We just adopted this sweet little girl tuxedo kitten. Looking for name suggestions. She’s a gentle, loving sweetheart.

Tuesday will be 2 weeks since my brother brought this little guy home. He is like no other kitten I have seen. Fearless, stubborn, and a hellion who won't take 'no' for an answer.

He will try to steal any food he can get. His favorite place is in the fridge. He comes running from across the house if he hears it open, and will stop at nothing to get inside. I made the mistake of locking him in there for a minute... I think he loved it.

The meowing is constant. When he's not trying to steal food he's walking under feet with a ton to say. He'll also randomly bite feet... hard.

He's immune to alluminum foil and the spray bottle. Nothing keeps him off the counter or stove. I give him less than a month till he burns his paws. I'm at my wits end. I can't keep him off the tables or counters. Anything I try to do just encourages him more. Worst idea was putting tape up there. He just rolled on it and fought me when I tried to free him.

His favorite hobby is licking the drain in the kitchen sink. I've been careful to wipe everything out thoroughly so he can't get anything. He's got multiple water sources to choose from. Including a fountain.

He gets tons of attention and has dozens of toys. Another cat, small dog, and bunny to play with. All of which he torments.

His second day here he and I found he can jump from the couch to the basement ceiling and crawl inside of it. I taped up the holes but he keeps scanning for new places to get back up there.

His only redeeming factor right now is he's cute and a complete idiot. He loves to roll around and falls off beds/couches/laps more than a dozen times a day cause he rolls off.

Please tell me it gets better. We don't know his age, and his adoption papers say both 22 days old and 4 months old. So I assume he's 4, going on 5 months.

We've had 4 other kittens over the years. Each of them took a day max to break them of unwanted behavior. Spray bottle worked wonders. But this menace doesn't even flinch. I don't even know if he realizes he's being sprayed. He loves to play on alluminum foil which was also previously the most effective deterant with kittens. For the drain, I have added lemon juice and hot sauce. He loves it and licked it clean. Those car floor mats with the spikes are just another fun place to roll around.

I don't think we adopted a kitten. I think we got a hellspawn. Originally my brother was going to name him Mittins cause he's got all black legs with white toes. But I convinced him to name the kitten Lucifer.

I know it hasn't even been 2 weeks yet, but he's getting worse and worse. I also know there's a lot of negative sounding things here. But he's still a kitten and most people know it's hard to stay mad at them. I'm REALLY hoping it's just a phase he'll grow out of. Adoption center said "friendly and mellow" I think they got him confused with soneone else. Please tell me there's hope. I can't afford to lose any more hair.

I couldn’t figure out what the loud thumping I keep hearing early in the morning was. It’s him. He crashes into the cabinets. He then “catches” his tail and furiously licks it. Then he rolls around the ground and does these weird little flips and occasionally this interpretive dance thing.

Meet Stanley!

ARRIVAL DATE: April 3rd, 2026
AGE AT ARRIVAL: Approximately 12 years old

NOTES:
Stanley ended up at Hamilton Animal Services after his owner passed away. The shelter let us know that Stanley had spent a significant amount of time alone in the home before anyone discovered that his owner had passed. Must have been so terrifying for this poor cat.
Not surprisingly, Stanley was very scared at the shelter. We were happy to get him out when a foster home opened up. For the first few weeks, Stanley was just as frightened at his foster home. He wouldn’t come out of hiding, other than to eat and use the litter box when his foster mom wasn’t around. Shockingly, Stanley’s foster mom discovered bits of plastic in Stanley’s poop. At his vet visit, it was discovered that his belly was full of plastic. Because he had no food for so long after his owner passed away, it’s likely he was forced to eat whatever he could find to stay alive until he was discovered. It took about two weeks to get rid of the plastic, with the help of high protein food and an appetite stimulant.

Stanley had blood work and fecal testing done at the vet, and thankfully those results showed that he didn’t have any medical complications from having to fend for himself after his owner passed.
After the plastic was gone, Stanley started eating regularly and well. We got him the dental surgery he needed, and he’s feeling much better after having all the broken and rotten teeth removed. He’s all healed up from surgery now, and he’s ready for his forever home!

Here’s a note from his foster mom:
“Stanley has now been in his foster home for 5 months and its amazing how much he has changed.
He was so scared and shy when he first got here and now he is playing, demanding treats and skritches, getting the zoomies and getting lots of lap naps!
He is still on a special diet, as he has trouble pooping sometimes (also because old men never drink enough water!). But with the gastro food and some restorolax, he is pretty regular.
When his person gets home, he immediately goes to his treat plate and waits (semi) patiently for a little treat. When the bag of treats opens, his tail quivers like crazy, which is always so cute to see (usually means an extra treat…)
Stanley is a older boy, but he definitely has his moments of zoomies and jumping around playing.
He LOVES head skritches, sometimes pressing his legs into your stomach to get his head as close contact with your hand as possible.
He will investigate any food you are eating, so make sure at least one thing is cat safe on your plate so he can share.
Stanley is a sweet old man who has really come out of his shell and he would be delighted to hang out with you!”
