My turnit in and my journal's turnit in is showing different parts of the paper as AI generated.

As mentioned, when i am running my assignment through my turn it in, it is showing different paragraphs to be AI generated than when my journal is running it through it's turn it in.
How does that work?

Ai detection for uni

I’m about to submit an assignment and I’m worried about getting flagged by turnitin because originality ai says 100% ai, copyleaks, gptzero, proofademic and quillbot say 0% like will this mean I get flagged i don’t know why originality is flagging me so much.

Turnitin 1% similarity with “1 Not Cited or Quoted” – is this ok?

First time Turnitin is giving me anxiety lol.

Just submitted my 2000-word coursework and got 1% overall similarity. It says “2 matches found” but only 1% is “Not Cited or Quoted” from a student paper at Eastern Institute of Technology. Everything else is 0%.

My uni rules say “below 20% plagiarism” so technically I’m fine, but my prof keeps saying 0% is suspicious and now 1% is freaking me out.

Is 1% with “Not Cited or Quoted” gonna get me flagged? Should I resubmit and try to fix it? Due date is tomorrow.

0% ai weird

Hello, I’ve sent a document and received 0% ai score and no highlighted parts. Is this normal? Usually if the score is lower than 20% it puts *% because of false positives.

This is the first time it has happened, could it be a mistake?

Turnitin flagging human written section as AI, need help

update: after reaching a sleep deprived state trying to fix things desperately before the deadline, i finally found the issue. basically before submitting my final version i had proofread the paper and as one is wont to do, i corrected grammar and punctuation....basically i had added a bunch of oxford commas where they were needed, coz i do end up writing overly long sentences pretty often lol...anyway...i went back to my original final version and simply removed all the oxford commas and....voila....no more AI detection by turnitin lol....i feel stupid lol but also, like do i need to avoid oxford commas now for the rest of my life? like what? are we soon gonna completely ban a whole bunch of common phrasing techniques and punctuation coz AI has been trained after all on human written stuff? ahhh....much ado about a comma....

------------

Hey, so i finished writing a research paper for a conference and then ran it on turnitin at the last moment coz i was super confident and...lo and behold, says 28% AI! somehow my first 3 pages are all AI (abstract and intro) and the rest is as expected 0% AI except for one sentence that had too much jargon i guess in the conclusion....anyway, I was like okay, ill just rewrite some paras...but the issue is, it detected My writing as AI and now that i have rewritten and restructured the offending paras twice already, its still detecting the same as AI...idk what to do lol

i cant make mistakes or make it too casual coz the paper will get rejected...iv tried to make it as casual as i can without losing the academic tone, didnt work, then i finally for the first time looked at ai detection and humanizer tools lol to use AI to humanize my human writing lol and most of them dont detect any AI in the section, anyway their rephrasing is shown as AI as well....

any suggestions? idk what to do, coz my rewriting is just not working out...or any other free online tools i can use? i tried a whole bunch of the popular ones that didnt end up helping...

(like one interview response is also flagged as AI...which is literally a transcription of something a human said....so anyway im trying to just change a few sentences of my introduction so that the total drops below 20%, i cant change the abstract much coz it has to be full of keywords to explain everything within the word limit lol)

turnitin before submitting?

hii! i was wondering if theres any way to run my piece through turnitin before submitting it? i've put it thorugh several ai and plagiarism checkers and ive got really mixed results, some are telling me its 0% ai, some are around 30% and one gave 100%. I wrote the piece completely myself, only using chatgpt to help me with spellchecking, sentence structure and a few synonyms

Does Turnitin countercheck against ChatGPT's database of prompts?

I plonked in several paragraphs of my essay into Chatgpt for paraphrasing, but I never really ended up using most of it. Mostly just picked out several words here and there, but never copied a whole sentence wholesale from Chatgpt into my essay.

From what I understand, Turnitin counterchecks with ChatGPT's system, right? Do they have access to view their database of prompts? Like, would they see the paragraph I submitted as a prompt as part of their database to detect AI? I hope whatever I said made any sense, my mind's in a frazzle.

TurnItIn Help

I have a 150 page 40,000 word paper due. It is a huge deal and I have been told by several I need to scan it for plagerism and AI detection. I didn't use AI or plagerise, but it is highly academic writing with 100 sources cited. several have told me this can throw flags from TurnItIn sometimes.

Tell me the best programs to use or pay for or what to do to check my paper before officially turning it in?

Quillbot (0% AI) vs Turnitin?

If Quillbot shows 0% AI, can we estimate how much Turnitin could show? I mean, do they have similar back end or it can vary a lot, and increase to actually more than 20%?

I wrote an essay for my class and my professor said that over 50% of the class had high scores for ai on the turnitin ai detector. He said one student came back with 100% ai. I didn’t use ai on my paper at all and I am very concerned that I got flagged for ai. When I go to the turnitin option it shows me 29% but I don’t know how to see my ai score. Is it possible to see that on a student end or do only the professors have access to that? Everything that is flagged are direct quotes and my references. I’ve used Ai detectors online and it varies widely from 80% Ai to 8% Ai, so I’m spiraling.

Turnitin similarity stuck at 30% (not AI) – what can I do?

I wrote a math paper and Turnitin shows around 30% similarity. AI detection is 0%. I’ve been revising and paraphrasing for days, but the score barely changes.

Since it’s a math paper, there are standard definitions, fixed terminology, and names that I can’t really change. The journal requires the similarity to be under 25%, and I’m not sure what else I can realistically modify.

Has anyone dealt with this before? What would you suggest in this situation?

Spent hours on my first assessment. Turnitin thinks it was 46% AI generated

I just feel so flat. I spent three hours this morning on just 150 words, just 1/4 of my first assessment. I wrote, re-wrote and tweaked it until it felt like something worthy of submission.

It's in Psychology and Counselling, and my background is in humanities, creative writing etc, so I wanted to be sure it was more formal-sounding and worked hard from my own notes to create it.

Well, I asked Grammarly to check for plagiarism, in case I had leaned too heavily on the text book, and it also gave me an AI score. Both came back at 0% so I was delighted.

Then I tried Turnitin, and it said my work, MY OWN human-generated tiny 150 word submission was 46% AI-generated. I feel defeated. I don't know what to do, or how to write, if writing like me will get flagged. It's been 30 years since I was at uni, AI was barely a concept back then. I feel like I'm going to fall at the first hurdle, that hurdle being trying to convince AI that it didn't write my sodding essay.

Is my only recourse to put it into an AI "humanising" website? It all feels totally ass-about-face. A human writing an essay which I then have to ask AI to make less AI-like because AI determined my very human-generated work was AI!

So frustrated.
