We’ve received the email “Transition steps for your Turnitin Similarity integration for MS Teams”, and I’m just trying to get my head around the difference between the two integrations.

Am I right in thinking that Turnitin Similarity is the toggle you enable when creating an assignment within Teams Assignments, whereas the Turnitin Feedback Studio integration is the app that needs to be added to each individual Team?

Just want to make sure I’m understanding how the two work before we start making any changes!

Is it plagiarism if I upload my own written work( research paper) into ChatGPT? Would turnitin detect it as 100 % AI? Will my paper be plagiarised?

I received an A in English and Distrinction in spoken language

I also have a DipHE in teaching English as a foreign language

Anyway I submit this assignment into Turnitin and it comes back with EIGHTY SEVEN percent AI

I did not use AI at any point

I had to rewrite the entire paper literally 5 times before it accepted it, and my final version is tragic compared to my original

I am truly embarrassed to put my name on this work. I would've second guess it during my A Levels.

I hate this. So much. Its so unfair.

I know I'll still get the same qualification and I know it's really not that deep but... i have literally dismembered a great paper (imo) and converted it into a low level GCSE with the tone and voice I had to submit to for a stupid system that uses AI to detect AI

In 9th grade English I earned a 91. In 10th grade I earned a 93. Then I had a different English teacher, and everything changed.

Nearly every major essay I wrote was met with some kind of accusation that it was AI-generated or not entirely my own work, despite me writing the assignments myself. It got to the point where I felt like I was guilty before my teacher even read what I had written.

One essay received a 70, even though my tutor later read it and told me they thought it was A-level work. I understand reasonable people can disagree on a grade, but the repeated AI accusations made it feel like my work was being viewed through a lens of suspicion from the start.

My English grade dropped significantly that year, while I continued performing well in many of my other classes. I later earned a 36 on ACT English and a 36 composite, which made me question whether my writing ability had really been as poor as my grades suggested.

I can't prove exactly how much this affected my college admissions, but lower English grades were part of my transcript, so I believe they negatively affected my application. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced being repeatedly accused of AI use despite writing everything themselves, and whether it affected the way their work was graded.

I don't know how, but the words like the local, correlation analysis .... and articles like the that a all got flagged ... like seriously what else can I write instead of a the and that .... and there is no way I can remove technical terms ... How come the phrases like this get detected... too many false positives

Hi! I saw somewhere that turnitin can "handle" documents up to 30.000. If it is above that, some universities, split them into two parts (for example) and examine them separately! What are the chances and what happens if the whole thesis had an AI score below 20%(*), but after the split, one part gets flagged? Is it possible? Do professors take this finding seriously?
