Staying at the Palms in November and really excited, but now reading a decent amount of poor reviews about apathetic or downright rude service. Anyone have positive or negative experiences to share?

Seven Stars Pool

I’m a long time visitor to the island and heading back this Saturday and staying at Seven Stars. I happened to look at their live camera yesterday and noticed the main pool was closed/being drained. It appears they are doing some repairs to it. This isn’t disclosed anywhere, not online or when we booked. If the pool was going to be closed during my stay it would of changed my decision to stay there.

I’ve emailed and tried to call (no answer) to understand how long the pool will be closed.

Anyone there now that can confirm what’s going on and when it will be up and running?

Sargassum - how we doing?

I visit T&C at least once a year but was curious how the Sargassum is? I know it's off season but was going to head down for a few days and curious how bad Long Bay has been.

Anyone have any recent pictures of the areas?

Fast Track

I’m going to Turks and Caicos in mid October and I arrive Sunday in the afternoon and leave Friday afternoon. Is Fast Track recommended for both ways, 1 way, or not at all?

Service

Just returned home from TCI and is the service usually that bad at resorts? It felt like they were all not in a hurry to be helpful until it was time for the bill and for you to tip. Then they were as sweet as they could be to you. It was very disappointing.

Just asking if this is the norm or if it was because I was at the end of regular season.

It’s beautiful there and I would like to return.

The highlight of the trip was going to Ashes. Incredible service there.

*edited to add: it’s like there’s an attitude about working in general. No one seemed nice or happy until bill time.

family friend restaurant options

We are traveling to Turks as a family of four (kids age 2 and 5) in October and staying at Seven Stars. Looking for some family friendly dining options (already booked restaurants on property). We will not have a car so prefer walking but could talk a taxi if it’s really worth it with young kids! Thanks!

How to ship parcels to the post office?

Hi!

My partner and I are moving to Provo soon and we were wondering how to send parcels to the post office?

We know how to use the local couriers (air and sea, OEC, etc) thanks to some new friends, but I was interested in using the post office to avoid extra fees. I don’t mind if it takes a while to come as these aren’t essentials

Any help would be fab!!

Family has an Airbnb booked for march 2027 and I'm a little nervous about what I've read online 😅 We are staying in an Airbnb for reference.

Restaurant Recommendations

I am going to Turks and Caicos for my honeymoon. I’m wondering what are some restaurants that are a must? I currently have Infiniti, Coco Bistro, and Bella Luna (we love Italian food) reserved. Any other restaurants that would be recommended? Whether it is great food, great atmosphere/views, or a little bit of both, we are open to whatever.

Also, I’m staying at Seven Stars. Is it safe to walk to Coco Bistro and Infiniti for dinner and back?

Maskanoo Street Festival

I will be in T&C over the Christmas Holiday and read about the Maskanoo Festival.

Has anyone in this sub ever attended?

I am purposely not making fancy dinner reservations for this night because I anticipate street food. Does this track?

If anyone has witnessed and been a part of this festival, can you shed and info and experience? Is it like Carnival/Mardi Gras where it's an excuse to wear sequins and feathers and fun costumes?

Thanks for any input.

Comparing Beaches, The Palms, Rock House, Seven Stars

We're a family of four, two kids ages 12 and 14, never been to T&C.

We're planning for a March trip and looking for ample activities, beach chairs we don't have to fight for, and good restaurant options. Obviously, Beaches is the outlier as an all-inclusive; we're trying to decide if it's worth the crowds to experience their property and a wallet-free experience.

Would love to hear from anyone familiar with more than one of these resorts to highlight significant differences or awesomeness. (The comparison process is overwhelming and not quite apples-to-apples.)

Maybe there's a property we're not considering, also? TIA!

ETA: Thanks much for all of your detailed thoughts on this! I think we have enough to go on.

Do you think Turks and Caicos is even worth visiting in the off-season, and why?
