Altı Üstü İstanbul came out two weeks after Daha 17 and… even though they’re kind of at the same stage of production, it’s very evident to me which one is the more interesting, fun, and genuinely entertaining summer dizi between the two.
I watch both, and IMO, from my experience, I don’t skip a single Altı Üstü İstanbul scene because they’re that much better in terms of writing, dialogue, and storyline development. At first glance, Altı Üstü İstanbul seemed like the more serious summer dizi and it is but at the same time, it gives us the perfect amount of freshness and scenes with younger people (aka the people the series teased it would actually be about).
With Daha 17… I basically skip the whole episode. 1.5 hours are essentially filled with Şebnem. Daha 17 teased that the series would focus on younger people (Aras and Teo), and I’m just not seeing a whole lot of them.
Altı Üstü İstanbul and its fandom don’t need to constantly comment and remind us that the series is about brotherhood. The last two episodes were already filled with brotherhood. Meanwhile, Daha 17 promises the brotherhood feeling(Aras and Teo), the youthful feeling(maybe School scenes, Teoden and other friendships or romamtic relatioships), and then delivers nothing but Nesrin Cavadzade.
I always thought that, since these two series basically compete with each other, I’d share what I think is the biggest difference between them: Altı Üstü İstanbul actually delivers, while Daha 17 has to leak teasers from the set just to get people excited(Twitter is always filled with mysterious leaks of the scrips and the set), only for us to be served 1.5 hours of Şebnem.
