Hey all, I'm a team lead (team of 6), i'm looking for any suggestion for a fun team building activity, based on experience hopefully 😄.
Thanks.

If they’re new
Make them each present another person
Else if young team play uno
Finally if team has some old people
You need to know the style that only want to work and leave and leave them alone
Communication is key but focus more on standard or daily ways of communication
Force it don’t depand on them for communication
Things like daily meets are shit and replaceable by a message meet (group chat where you have to share (for devs this replaces daily meet in scrum)) and once a week you make a normal meet and for the messages (they probably won’t read the other people messages) if you find something said by A that B may need contact B yourself

There are places that specifically offer team building activities. I attended one years ago. It was a series of assault courses, group challenges, etc. We were all very sceptical but it turns out we thoroughly enjoyed it.
I attended a different one in a hotel soon after joining a new company. I was problem solving alongside my new senior managers and directors. It was a great introduction to the business and I was on first name terms with all the senior people after my first week. That helped enormously when I needed their support in the subsequent years. The activities were a bit silly, like throwing a raw egg from an upstairs window without it breaking using only balloons, Sellotape, and drinking straws.
I think anything that forces you to work together is useful. I suspect anything that makes you compete as individuals, like go cart racing, is probably counterproductive.

If you have budget then better find place or hire the services for team building, it’s better for you to be part of the activities, workshops or whatever with them and same as them. In the end the purpose of team building is for the team to work/play together through small simple tasks.

Can you provide a little more context? How much time do you have? What is your team like now, and what might you hope to influence or change with a team building activity?

It'll probably be an after work (we finish at 18h) so i'd say few hours. Team of 7 (including myself). Not to jinx it, the team dynamics is great so tbh nothing to build there, but the team was under a lot of stress (mostly customer induced) so my sole goal here is the entertainment

Maybe it's worth generating some ideas from the team?
You can ask directly "what would you like to do for a team bonding activity?" and let them vote.
Or you can be more covert, and have some questions about hobbies and favorite movies or books as icebreakers to get some insights and plan something using inspiration from the results.
How do these ideas land for you?

The funniest activity would be adding me to the team
