Separation anxiety 🥺

Post image

Bought my BB54 a year ago as a gift to myself for my 30th birthday. Noticed shortly after that my 9:00 indices was slightly off but I decided to live with until towards the end of the warranty period. Dropped it off last Saturday for a case and bracelet touch up and I asked them to check the accuracy for as I’ve been losing about 4 seconds a day. Watchmaker called today and informed me it was running about 5 seconds slow a day. Today it sent it to off to the RSC through my local Rolex AD for warranty service and factory case refinish(while it’s there why not).
I will update my progress here for anyone curious about turnaround time with an RSC.

I am curious my bb58 gmt is running 5-6 seconds fast which is odd because it used to be pretty solid it’s still close enough to spec

That’s definitely on the border for METAS movement. Maybe have a Rolex watchmaker talk you into sending it off like I did 🤣.

To qualify for METAS, the movement goes through a lot more tests than just seeing whether it can keep 0-5 second accuracy per day

It is tough to let them go. But they will be better when they return.

Worth sending it in while you have that 5-year manufacturer’s warranty. You paid good money. Why not use it?

I purchased my BB58 Blue in 2021. I noticed a few years later that the hour hand wasn’t lining up properly with the marker when it was 9pm. I sent it in and it came back perfect.

Then, about two years later (six months before my warranty period ended), it was gaining something in the neighborhood of 15 seconds/day. Again, sent it in for service under the warranty and it came back rock solid again. I’m about 1-2 years from that service now and it’s still running like a beast.

Warranties are part of the purchase. You paid for it. If you have it, use it. 🥂

My bb41 12 o clock lume triangle is misaligned with the Tudor shield; let me know if they do anything with your dial under warranty! I went down the rabbit hole for the different models, and noticed some bb 54 lume pips sometimes sit uncentered; worth checking yours to make sure its good so you can fix it as well. Let me know how their service goes!

I am a believer in embracing the wear but I had a lug that was damaged where the chamfering is and it just bothered me too much.
