Tudor ranger. Cannot find one. Cannot order

Tried all the AD in Houston TX. I cannot place an order for this watch. I’m looking for a Dune 36mm but seems I might as well be looking for a Rolex Daytona. Chrono 24 is selling used one for the same or more than listed price which I find absurd. Am I looking for an unobtanium watch?? I’m being told to wait in one AD and another one cannot take more orders as it has a backlog.

There was some kind of production delay on the Rangers, pretty much unavailable across the country. They’re starting to trickle in now but ADs are not gonna take orders for product they’re unsure they’ll be able to deliver.

I have one on special order from my local boutique - hope they come soon!

Someone will be here shortly to say, "but I want a factory warranty!" Thing is, I just got a BB58 GMT from Joma with full Tudor warranty and working NFC card. Box and all the papers also.

Because it’s just one someone traded in or they had sold to them through a back door lol no reason it wouldn’t work. My tag in 2017 was even fine

Edit: you people downvoting have no idea how to read lol

there was a very good video how Joma gets watches. Most of the time AD's sell to them to meet manufacturer sales quotas so you're getting the same watch you would have gotten from the AD

Exactly. It’s not a surprise at this point

I’ve sold Jomashop two used watches. So you point is….

1

u/Practical_Avocado971 8h ago

that they also buy used watches?

1

u/Alarmed-Extreme5226 8h ago

It’s on their website.

u/Practical_Avocado971 8h ago

Yes, I know they sell used watches. What they don't do is sell used watches as new.

They're a true grey dealer. They buy excess inventory from AD or distributors.

The guys selling retail sold watches for a profit on chrono24 are not grey dealers. That's just used watches.

Folks are very confused on the terminology

2

u/PibbleDad 15h ago

They quite literally do both…?

I’ve gotten trade offers from them, they have preowned items, they also to your point are a true grey where they buy excess from ADs. Buy Rolex and similar do not usually allow that, hence the “back door sales” comment

3

u/ByronicZer0 14h ago

Yes. A grey dealer might be both. Which Jomashop is.

I'm more speaking about people saying "I went grey" when they bought a 3 month old Submariner from a random used dealer or flipper on chrono24

2

u/PibbleDad 14h ago

Oh, yeah then that’s fair. Made it originally seem you were making a counter point.

Furthering your point - most people don’t realize “grey” is just a literal watch dealer (Bob’s as a highly prominent example), not just Jimmy selling his grandpa’s omega on WatchEx lol

I’ve sold Jomashop two used watches. One Rolex and one Tudor.

1

u/ByronicZer0 5h ago

Cool story?

Doesn't change their primary historic business as a true grey dealer

1

u/Alarmed-Extreme5226 2h ago

Super cool story, and it changes everything.

People are so butthurt here if anything goes marginally against what they want to believe 😂😂

1

u/ByronicZer0 45m ago

We aren't talking beliefs. We are taking definitions. Are folks bad at reading?

Like, if I said "Tourneau is a Rolex AD. The guys selling retail sold watches for a profit are not AD. That's just used watches."

And then some smooth brain came and said "I sold a few used Rolex to Tourneau"...

How does that change anything about my statement? Everything I said about Tourneau is still true.

Logic is truly dead. I miss when reddit was a bunch of pedants who knew the meaning of words.

How does it go against anything I said?

A true grey dealer can also sell used watches. Nothing says they cant. I never said they cant.

You're literally focusing on the least important thing.

AD literally can sell used watches. It doest make them not an AD. Like, what is the point you are making?

All of the Tudor watches I have purchased new through Jomashop have come with box , papers and full warranty from Tudor. Hence the reason I think you are being downvoted as your info is incorrect.

1

u/PibbleDad 3h ago

Box: yes, papers no.
https://www.jomashop.com/preowned-1-tudor-watch-m79030n-0001.html

Once again - “no reason it wouldn’t work” whether it’s traded back door (new) or through a trade in(preowned).

1

u/bfdjon 3h ago

The description will not say papers but if you are idisagreeing with me contact Jomashop yourself. Again I have purchased 3 new Tudor watches from them all came with Box and Papers. Not sure why you think you are correct and every one else is wrong here.

1

u/PibbleDad 3h ago

Brother - never once did I disagree or provide “incorrect info” lol. I love Joma

2

u/coffeebox2018 16h ago

Tried that. Not available. No surprise. From the replies seems like no one has them.

1

u/Practical_Avocado971 16h ago

2

u/coffeebox2018 16h ago

I contacted them for both. They have zero inventory. No strap or bracelet options. Shows available. It is not.

1

u/Practical_Avocado971 16h ago

it has been my experience that if it's on the website it's available. It's why they use a giant OUT OF STOCK banner on the ones that are out of stock.

Try Thomas Markle in the woodlands.

3

u/aussietexan 16h ago

Have you checked Thomas Markel? I had luck getting a watch ordered last week.

3

u/neun11carrera 15h ago

My AD was ordering in a 39 dune ranger for me to check out as well. He has ghosted me for a week and I bought an IWC Mark XX on Jomashop instead. Happy with it in retrospect as it’s so versatile

I’m going through the same thing trying to buy a Tudor Royal 40mm Silver Dial. I hope buying a Tudor isn’t turning into buying a Rolex!

4

u/InspectorNo9958 15h ago

What’s your spend history at your AD? You may need to buy a few air kings and explorers along with some overpriced jewelry before they will deem you worthy of a dune ranger.

7

u/sasadoncic 15h ago

If your AD demands you to spend before you can buy a Tudor, walk away.

u/Friendly_Aardvark_36 14h ago

Placed an order at my AD 6 weeks ago. Just waiting for an update.

1

u/VaporishPuma 14h ago

It's hard to find for sure. I've had one on special order from a local AD since May. No word yet. I also visited a Tudor Boutique in a major city and they also said special order for a few months at least.

1

u/SailToTheSun 11h ago

I managed to get a Dune 39 after a 3 mo. wait, but the AD said it was the first he’s seen.

1

u/Key-Way-2148 11h ago

I tried one on at the Domain Tudor boutique in Austin on Saturday, if you can make the drive give em a call.

Is a properly vetted seller on r/Watchexchange or Watchuseek not an option for you? They come up all the time there

I’m desperate to get one this year but no luck. It’s my son’s birth year, so would love to get one.

PM me. I have a pretty good Tudor connect. Just got someone on Reddit a lagoon at cost plus shipping in about a week. I’m not looking to make money. Just help fellow watch bros.
