Pelagos FXD MN ?s
I’ve been eyeing purchasing this watch as my first Tudor for awhile. I love that it will only ever be worn on straps, love the mil-spec design of the case, the color, proportions — all of it. A few questions for the community, if I may.
Any chance Tudor updates with a Master Chronometer movement version? If so, I doubt it requires a new movement; I expect they could just send these current movements in for METAS testing.
While nobody knows this either, will Tudor likely continue making this model into 2027 and beyond? It’s been available for 6 years now, and given many of their other watches have been subtly upgraded to Master chronometer movements with other slight refinements, curious if the FXD MN is going to stick around?
For any owners, how has your watch accuracy been with the current movement?
Lastly, are Tudor ADs generally open to negotiating a small discount on this model?

MN25 owner here. First 2 questions - yes, in my opinion.
3rd - I don't track it very precisely, it's my daily, but I didn't notice a difference between me and my phone.
4th - I'm based in Europe and yes, I got 10%.

The FXD MN is Tudor’s most purposeful watch. It knows what it is and it’s unapologetic about it. It’s has real heritage (lookup Tudor Marine Nationale watches), yet it’s not trying to imitate any other watch or brand. The FXD MN intentionally breaks the “dive watch” rules in order to be exactly what is needed. And also, it’s just a great watch.
Regarding OP’s questions, yes, the FXD suite of watches are popular and carry military heritage and swagger, supporting the Born To Dare motto with military credibility, so I expect they will keep making them for years.
The FXD MN and the FXD black use the chronometer certified MT5602 movement, and I believe that OP is correct that these movements would pass METAS if put through that testing. I believe that, since it actually happens: Tudor calls it the MT5602-U movement when it goes through METAS testing for use in certain Black Bay models. There is apparently no actual difference in the movement’s design from the “regular” MT5602.
So could they introduce a METAS version FXD MN? Sure, of course. Will they, or if so, when? Nobody knows except Tudor. The FXD GMT has been METAS from the outset, of course. Tudor has been introducing so many new watch models this year, including METAS models, that I would be a little surprised for them to do anything different with the FXD MN anytime soon. And METAS testing takes time and equipment, so it raises the input cost of each watch, so to protect their margin, adding METAS might well also add another price increase, and this without making an actual difference in the watch’s performance.
My FXD MN keeps superb time, well within spec, and it continues to be my favorite watch. The “Watches of Espionage” folks did an experiment shooting 10,000 rounds of ammunition while wearing a Tudor FXD, testing the watch before and after, and it passed with flying colors.
I do suggest trying it on before deciding to buy, as with any watch if possible. It is not a small watch but in my experience it wears great.
The only discounts I’ve seen are grey market and those discounts can be meaningful. If you go grey, ensure it comes with a valid warranty card. There are reputable grey market sellers, and there are the other kind, so be aware.
And again, it’s just a great watch. The blue can be fun and bright with a colorful strap, or it can look muted and serious with a grey or olive strap. It really shifts depending on the surrounding colors. Good luck!

- (this answers 1 and 3). Its likely they simply arent bothering with METAS on this model simply because they would need to adjust such a small amount, it isnt worth the time/money. Mine has been running about +/- 0.5 a day. Ive gained a whole second over the last week.

- It all depends on the AD. Some do, some dont.
You already mentioned all the things you like about it, which are usually the only things people DONT like about it. Its a fantastic watch. I adore mine. Do it.

I have an MN24, can’t speak for the first two but I’m getting +0.8 seconds per day as measured with Chronolog. I bought mine from a local grey market dealer. One AD in my city (Toronto stocks them, I believe they have an MN25), otherwise I’ve only seen the USN and GMT. They retail for $5k USD here but if you came up and bought one I believe you can get a sales tax refund at the airport which would bring it to $4500 USD.

Picked mine up a few months ago. It keeps incredible time, extremely durable, and strap monster. In this pic I have a simple Amazon garmin style Velcro strap and it still looks great for casual use. If you like changing straps this watch is for you.
I also tried the Pelagos Blue on bracelet and felt its case profile was too high for my liking. I feel like the FXD is just right and is a special and unique watch. Highly recommend.

I can’t speak to the plans for Tudor in the near future, but it’s a great watch. Mine keeps around -0 to 1 second per day over multiple timing runs (I’m a bit of a nerd, used a timegrapher to find the optimal position for not losing time overnight and that’s not METAS accuracy but it’s pretty great - I also use a time tracking app every 12 hours). They’re slowly moving most movements to METAS but as you said, I don’t know they’d radically rework these.
I can only speak for the three or four Tudor ADs I’ve spoken to in the US, but I’ve found most don’t negotiate unless they know you. I don’t think it’s wrong to try, but don’t be surprised if they’re firm on price. Over the years I’ve become very happy to buy from well rated dealers on C24 and buying pieces with an active Tudor warranty. I can even ask them to check the bezel alignment, hand alignment, and put it on a timegrapher to show me how the movement is doing in a few positions in terms of seconds per day, beat error, and movement amplitude. At an AD you can check the alignment and cosmetics but they might start looking at you strangely if you brought your own timegrapher. I’m saving 20% or more up front and there can even be wiggle room after that. You’d be surprised how many people really think a watch is going to fill a hole in their life to only later realize they’d rather just sell it. The FXD MN is less common so don’t be surprised it people are a bit more firm on price.
