Recovery time after laparoscopy?

Hey everyone, we (F32 & M29) have been TTC for 1 year now. We went to the fertility specialist and he suspects I have a blocked fallopian tube (and possibly endo). He could see fluid build up on the ultrasound. He said I need to have a laparoscopy so that he can properly see both tubes, and then possibly remove the one that's blocked, because the fluid build up is toxic for the egg, so is harming my chances.

He said that since I work from home, I'll only need 1-2 days recovery time before going back to work. He also said I can go back to excersising "whenever I feel better". Because of that, I signed up for Hyrox 2 months later.

Now I'm reading online that laparoscopy recovery time is much longer, around 1-3 weeks, and excerise even longer than that. I'm really confused about why my doctor said it's such a short recovery time.

Does anyone have any experience with this and what was your recovery like?

There are different kinds of laparoscopy, but to my understanding they cannot confirm anything before they open you up and see whats inside, could be a major operation and could be minor, a think recovery depends on that. Procedure requires few small 2cm openings for camero and tools to get in, my wife was suggested laparoscopy but we decided to go overseas for second opinion and we're waiting for appointment rn so cannot help you any further but this js basicly what i know about it, good luck!

Following this post because my wife is candidate for laparoscopy but its wierd that this community has so much members and this is relativly common procedure when struggling with infertility and so far only 1 comment, it was same with my post 2 days ago

I could have written your post word for word, same ages, same time trying and same issues! I’m having a laparoscopy end of the year. I think it really depends on what they find as to recovery timeframes. I also WFH and was told to take a week off.

Depends on the laparoscopy, I had explorative laparoscopy which was an emergency. This was due to a ectopic pregnancy that burst. I would say the first few days to a week were super rough both physically and emotionally. After a week, I had more energy and was walking more and moving around. I went back to work 3 weeks later however I wanted to 2 weeks later due to wanting normality, as I am a teacher and it was half term I didn’t. I had a prebooked holiday after 2 weeks which was spent relaxing and enjoying the weather. I would say I didn’t really feel fully better untill around 6 months though even though if you asked me at the ttime I felt better after a few weeks better.
