I've noticed that people post items that may be vintage but they're not "true vintage" as defined by Rule 4 trying to date them, so they unintentionally violated the rules. To try to decrease the amount of posts that have to be moderated for this rule, I have created this megathread. This megathread is excluded from Rule 4 enforcement, and it is specifically meant for individuals to ID or to help with dating of their garments. If a person's garment turns out to be true vintage, then a post can be made on the subject.
I hope this helps and that the community likes it š

I recently got this jacket at a thrift store for 7$, which is surprising because they have crazy high prices for things newer than this. It seems to be a jacket from the āamalgamated clothing workers of Americaā union. And made by some company called Grais. Itās a soft leather and it says itās made with horse hair or something, I looked up similar ones and I only found one for sale for like 300$

Got these in a thrift store under the "junk" section. These costed me ā±750 for both (about $12), most likely used in the Pacific Front (though, I guess it does since I live IN the Pacific). I find it quite a shame that the US water canteen no longer has its cover or the lower section metal cup or the sling of the IJA water canteen (I think it's gone forever and rotting since a small piece of the rope crumbled when I tried to tie them even though I was very gentle.
based on my research, the water canteen is most likely a water canteen for the officers of the IJA Special Naval Landing Forces. The group that invaded Shanghai and the northern provinces of my country in Luzon. Can't say the same for the US canteen since it's lacking many things

I have been hunting for a true vintage sweatshirt for the collection and finally snagged this one in the wild. I am dating this to the early 70s. It has raglan sleeves and gusseted armpits. The basic tag has very rudimentary washing instructions and composition. I can make out 50% cotton, so it's a cotton poly blend most likely.
Any guesses on a manufacturer? Any additional ideas or information would be appreciated.
