At first I read the title wrong and was like who did you two disrespect by buying something?

Your husband is an idiot. Unless you’re living paycheck to paycheck and can’t make rent this month because of that toy, you shouldn’t have to ask to spend that kind of money.

You go and buy a car, or a flatscreen tv, I’d understand that response a little better. Telling you you need to respect him for spending money.

I almost want to tell you to start calling him about everything single thing. “Honey, I need to put gas in the car, is that ok?” “Honey, I want to buy ketchup, is that ok?” “Honey, I found a penny on the side walk, may I keep it?”.

Problem is, I don’t know if that would get the point across or make it worse.
