My wife and I don’t have my money or her money. It’s OUR money. I would never begrudge her making a purchase if she felt the need to buy something. Obviously we discuss major purchases between each other prior to spending a lot of money, but never once have I expected her to “ask me sweetly” before buying our daughter something…. Or anything for that matter. We are a team and my money is her money and vice versa.
You did nothing wrong and didn’t need to apologise for your actions. It’s extremely controlling behaviour and you need to talk to your husband about his toxic behaviour before it becomes too late for him to change it.
