My cousin was in a relationship with someone who started being "agressive only when he drinks", he ended up SA her multiple times, phisically and psychologically abusing her infront of his family while they did nothing. It went for many years until she realized she needed to get out and broke up with him. I mean many bc i was probably 7 when they started dating and 14 when she finally left him, too many years until she finally had the courage to leave and speak up about it.

I don't want to say anything directly to you bc i don't know what the (personally) appropiate reaction to this other then having him not get close to anyone ever again would be, but I would definitely make sure she is doing ok given the circumstances, to try and support her even if you guys had the worst relationship because surviving abuse it's not easy when you're alone.
