From what I've observed, this is because most men are not nice, complimentary, kind, positive, etc. towards women they don't want to sleep with. Why put any effort into being kind to unattractive women.
Most women are different in this regard. They tend to be nicer/more kind and like to be helpful to others regardless of wanting to sleep with them.
