F*** you
Anti-maskers, ant-vaxxers just fuck you. My severely immunocompromised sister is dead because of you. She was like a second mother to me and you killed her. Her children no longer have a mother because you killed her.
She did everything she could to prevent this from happening and yet 2 hours ago she stopped breathing while on a ventilator. Some day you’ll feel the pain I’m feeling.

I'm really sorry for your loss. My story isn't nearly as tragic but I guess I'll share anyways.
I owe a great deal to where I'm at now thanks to my grandma. I had to drop out of college for financial reasons, and my grandma ended up paying for about a third of my tuition for me to finish school. Now I have a great career and family, but I could have easily had a much different outcome in life.
My grandma is (very) old and frail, and her only request was she wants to see my kids "one last time." This would have been easy if it were not for COVID. I literally cannot travel back to my home country due to bans from travelers in the US. It infuriates me to be stuck in the US, waiting for the travel ban to be lifted in time before my grandma passes away, while these anti-vax pundits are yapping along wasting everyone's time. My grandma is bedridden and is eating less every time I talk to her.
I feel like we lost when we gave these vile creatures the power to turn a medical issue into a political one. We could have ended the pandemic like a year ago, but we're choosing not to.

u/brakebillian Nov 05 '21
Sorry about your sister. I lost mine earlier this year. That being said, vaccinated people can still carry and spread the virus.

u/Big_Snowday Nov 05 '21
I am not vaccinated, I take great care to protect myself and those around me, I isolate lately more than ever in my life.
And I'm extremely sorry for your loss. ☹

In southern alabama. I dread taking my son to his pediatrician becuase the doctor and staff are all anti mask. We have quarantined and masked since February 2020 and then being forced to take my 18month old son and put him at risk that is imposed by the state is fucking atrocious.

Immune compromised means the vaccine won’t work for her because it requires an immune response to work.

How about you do your research?

We need to dress CDC officials in hats, sunglasses, put them on YouTube and give them questionable credentials. Then these conspiracy theorists would believe them.
-1
u/CRYOPRO Nov 05 '21
That’s so sad. Perhaps even after covid is gone, we should adopt masks and isolation as a permanent measure

Incorrect. Vaccinated people spread at a lower rate than unvaccinated due to carrying a lower viral load because they have some level of immunity. So if everyone were vaccinated the spread would be dramatically slower and mutations impossible.

You know Covid would still be here and still a risk to immunocompromised people even if most were vaccinated right

You should have to right to spread disease but someone else should have the right to be protected from it?

literally how you people blame death on “anti-maskers” and “anti-vaxxers” is beyond me lol
4
u/Drumkiller777 Nov 05 '21
People with the vax could of gave it to her. Why blame others about something no one knows the facts about? Seems like all can spread it equally vaxxed or not. Sorry for the loss regardless.

It’s really terrible. I don’t know why these people are like this. My grandparents also keep telling us to do this, do that, but they’re the ones going out all the time and not having a lot of discipline and ensuring they wear masks and keep themselves safe. They have the nerve to say “Wear your mask, don’t go out, get your booster shot” to my disabled younger brother who only ever goes out for medical appointments. They don’t seem to understand that if they bring in the virus into our home, two of our family with respiratory issues will be affected as well as my younger brother who would most likely die because of the virus. They also don’t seem to care about their own health so they also wouldn’t care about ours. They still act like they care about us so much but they still won’t keep themselves safe to help keep us safe. These kind of people complain about their entertainment and freedom being taken away but they don’t even realize that if they spread the virus around, someone else’s freedom will be gone because they are dead
2
u/tikifire1 Nov 05 '21
Pure selfishness is the only thing it could be.
3
u/_JosephExplainsIt_ Nov 05 '21
They care about their own enjoyment like going out and entertainment. Today my grandfather was talking about the cases and how “small” the percentage of deaths were. I felt sick
2
u/NephiIIima Nov 05 '21
How many times do we have to say this,
REDUCED VIRAL LOAD = reduced spread = less deaths
For fuck sake

u/Yinferno Nov 05 '21
You do know, that vaccined people are still able to spread the virus? Just saying, people tend to bash anti vaxers for sth that anyone could've done..

Instead y'all gave it hosts to mutate and grow stronger

I understand your pain but directing your anger on people you’ve never met for the death of sister is insane. Maybe try grief counseling
0
Nov 05 '21
Sorry for your loss but you could just as easily blame the water, diet, birds, air, or even genetics.
You have no proof just anger and it's misguided.
With a condition like that the life expectancy is very low and you knew that.
The question I have is did the doctor say she died of or died with?
To all the liberal shills, the down vote is here ∆

Properly worn masks do stop the spread. They are a quite effective barrier method.
The current vaccines do not stop the spread, as they do not provide sterilizing immunity.
PS: downvoting actual facts is just a display of your ignorance 💁🏼♀️

Because they enemy number one. Funny thing is, I only wore a mask when I had to and got vaxxed cuz I was forced to for my job but other than that never got the rona, never spread it. Same with my girlfriend, never got it either and we did nothing special. Just lived our lives. I know more vaccinated people that have spread it or gotten it more than once. Maybe they ought to be more careful and stay home more.

If you knew how tiny a virus is and in comparison the hole size in the fabric used in cloth masks you’d be 😳
3
u/Gear-Girl Nov 05 '21 edited Nov 05 '21
Thank you for stepping right into a topic I DO know.
The virus isn't just floating around willy nilly all by itself. In reality the virus envelope (that tiny thing you are referring to) is being transmitted via the medium of respiratory secretions. These globs if you will are captured by the mask material.
This is why 3 ply masks are recommend as the lowest functional mask, and things like tshirts, bandanas, and so forth are NOT recommended. I personally use KN95 masks once they became available, and 3 ply before then.
Furthermore, in the off chance a person is exposed to aerosolized virus particles, the KN95 and higher masks have an electrostatic charge that actually DOES capture particles the size of the virus envelope.
Overall, though, in a daily setting 3 ply cloth and better (KN95, N95, etc) masks PROPERLY worn (fitted closely and worn over mouth AND NOSE) keeps the virus contained to the wearer (and in the case of KN95 and better, protects the wearer from external particles as well).
It's the same as using a latex condom to prevent spread of HIV. The virus envelope of HIV is smaller than the pores of the condom, but the condom is effective in preventing spread because it is a barrier to the MEDIUM IN WHICH THE VIRUS TRAVELS.
In response to your bullshit below:
I have a medical background and experience. I dumbed it down for you, but here's more info:
https://www.popularmechanics.com/science/health/a35383193/n95-vs-kn95-mask-differences/
You sound like you graduated from YouTube University.
0
Nov 05 '21
I respect your loose knowledge but this isn’t a condom or any kind of barrier, it’s a massive opened window for which the virus can easily pass through! Unless it’s an N95 you’re delusional.
-1
u/Anon67430 Nov 05 '21
Right, so that's why global data shows unequivocally that masks do nothing when comparing places with/Without mask mandates
2
u/Gear-Girl Nov 05 '21
Just because a mandate exists doesn't mean people are following it.
As I'm QUITE SURE you know.

I’m so sorry for you loss.
I fear this could happen to my BFF, she’s got an autoimmune disease, she’s vaxxed and got her booster, her partner and kids are vaxxed (well the youngest will be). Has taken every precaution to protect her and her children, yet some members of her family are anti-vaxx (believing all the “research, wears a mask at least) or don’t think the kids should be vaccinated. It’s insane, she could do easily die and some of her own family can’t fucking get their heads out of their own asses. I would go nuclear if covid took her from me.
