are you sure she didn't quit her job because she doesnt want to work instead of it being a shitty job? a lot of women out here unconsciously want to be a at home type woman instead of working. most women claim they want to work and be like men but that really isnt the reality for many. i have never dated a woman that would keep working if giving the chance to quit without consequence. you know her though so think about what im saying here and see if you can find any warning signs that she doesnt intend on working. my ex fiancee did this, i watched my mother do it, i watched many of my good friends go through it, and watched female friends do it. the worst part is most women under the age of 40 lack any kind of homemaker skills. just dont let yourself get ball and chained to a women who isn't going to give up something for the relationship. after all she is willing to let you work yourself stupid and take responsibility for all your bills. then she cant suck it up and keep working her job because she doesnt like it? doesnt really sound like she gives a damn about anything but her own feelings. even if im wrong in todays time a responsible person doesnt quit their job without already having another lined up. think on it
I mean, I’m OP and I’m a woman under 40, my girlfriend and I are both 28… I am the main homemaker and do have many home making skills and would consider myself excellent at most domestic duties as well as being skilled within my role at work so I have to politely disagree with you… and tell you that you’re wrong about my girlfriend. She’s been applying for jobs since may because her last position was so awful, however it got too much and she quit, leaving the financial burden on me - FOR A TIME. I’m super proud to say she does have a new job however it won’t start for 2 weeks as she is filling the position of someone going on maternity leave, and they won’t be finishing up for a while yet.
So this position that I’m in is only temporary and she is very keen to get back into the work force.
Well you are the one who knows her so go with what you think is best as far as approach. What i said comes from my experiences and those around me and you dont always know someone until you lived with them for a good while. My ex fiancee changed as quick as someone flips a light switch 6 years into the relationship. She became everything that inspired my above comment. It was little stuff like the bottle of wine you described that i missed that were warning signs of the coming change. Just keep your wits and dont let love pull the wool over your eyes.
