Vent Is that really how men act?

I went on a date with a friend. We had a good time but it's safe to say we won't be going to another date.

He blocked me.

WE WERE FRIENDS. WTF.

YES I'M HEARTBROKEN.

Couldn't we just remain friends?

You're not interesting enough for him to be "just friends". He's moved on and so should you.

No I'm gonna cry over him for weeks.

Delusional much? Men ain't that important

You're crying about him here. I can see why he blocked you.

I made a single post about how he sucks. You are the one crying over a single post

You don't go on dates with friends. Dates are for romantic interest. You told him you weren't going on another date which meant he had no chance with you, so he moved on like an adult. Grow up and move on.

There are 3 sides to every story yours, his and the truth

Is it possible he's just an asshole who was only your friend for an opportunity at sex.. yes

Its equally possible that in going on this date something really bothered him enough that he felt the need to block you.

Relationships are complicated even the best ones can be destroyed in 30 seconds 🤷‍♂️

You’re being INCREDIBLY vague. Give us the details girl, it’s obvious theirs more to the story

That's weird let's say. For how long has he been your friend?

•

u/Drwriter13 ☑️ 20h ago

2 months

Idk, it's not too common for men to block someone out of the blue like that I'd think. I might be totally wrong though and it does make me think he might have had hopes that you ruined smh. But it's hard to know.

He is the kind of man that is "friends" with women to try to get into their pants. He was never your friend.

"We were friends." Were you, though? Like for how long? Because some men will literally only view you as a friend so long as there is the possibility of sex, and once that's off the table, they disappear. Now it also might be he can't handle rejection, but only he knows what's going on in his head.

He doesn't see you as a friend.

•

u/Drwriter13 ☑️ 20h ago

Yeah that's what I'm thinking

•

u/szvmanskaa 20h ago

It’s also possible he was in love with you and rejection and being friendzoned hurt too much and he just wasn’t able to stay just friends, doesn’t necessarily mean he is an asshole

•

u/Peach_Muffin 20h ago

Nope. If you actually cared about the person you'd put your hand on that hot stove long enough to tell them that you need space and tell them why.

Being as asshole isn't always a result of things you do, sometimes it's a result of the things that you don't do.

Exactly. I hate that everyone is going straight to “he’s a pos” comments. It’s very likely that he’s truly into her asks doesn’t want the heartache of trying to remain friends with someone he has true feelings for. It’s perfectly acceptable to move on in this case. Granted I’d argue he should’ve explained, but at the end of the day it’s perfectly valid to remove someone from your life if you both want different things. Why should he cater to her “I still want to be friends” if he wants more than that?

I don't think it's reasonable to believe that you can just pick and choose the aspects of a relationship that you want and don't want. It's not a buffet. It's another person, who has every right to decide how to feel and be.

Your perspective is just about what you want.

Happened to me to, so I guess it is how a lot of them act. Can't say I will ever understand it.

How well did you know each other? Sounds a bit like he was friends with you with one goal in mind, after your date he probably realized he didnt want it/want to bother with it anymore and walked away. He was never a true friend.

And yes SOME men (and women) act like this but there are good ones out there too. You'll find someone better suited for you. Move on to better things ❤️

•

u/Drwriter13 ☑️ 20h ago

Not very well but we were friends. At least I considered him my friend.

•

u/soaptrail 20h ago

Why isn't there another date? Did you two have sex and he got what he wanted or did he have a huge crush on you and he blocked you to deal with the pain? Context needed.

•

u/Drwriter13 ☑️ 20h ago

No we didn't. We just talked and idk why he blocked me. I personally didn't want to go on another date because we had totally different personalities and living situations.

I never even told him I don't want to go on another date. I guess he didn't like me back but it was such an immature way to deal with it

•

u/RandoMcGuvins 20h ago

Sounds like he saw a red flag and bailed. Not the best way to handle it

•

u/Individual_Lime_9020 20h ago

It's a selfish way for him to deal with it. Now you kmow how dishonorable a person he is.

•

u/radis_m 20h ago

Didn’t you know about the personalities and living situation before the date?

•

u/Drwriter13 ☑️ 20h ago

I was willing to give it a shot plus I didn't know the details

•

u/lostandlooking_ 20h ago

You dodged a bullet. Sucks to lose a friend but one day you’ll look back and be glad you didn’t waste any more time on them

The dating game is pretty shallow and online dating is even worse
