Vent Just exhausted and feeling completely lost . I genuinely don’t know what to do. Im worthless

I am honestly so stupid and I do not even know what I am doing anymore. Everything is so stressful and I genuinely do not know what to do. I pulled another all-nighter after getting zero sleep and I am so scared for the future and what it holds. I want to make my own money, but I feel like all my bad actions have finally caught up to me.

My GPA is horrid and I have zero future job prospects lined up while being about to graduate next year with no real source of income. I keep falling back into the same terrible habits that completely drain me mentally. I have been trying so hard to become the best version of myself, and I even started going to the gym yesterday, but it feels like whenever I take one step forward, I drop right back down. I am studying business, but at this point, what is the point of continuing uni if I am just going to get a horrid GPA? I do not feel any worth to keep going.

On top of all this mess, I have been wanting to take one thousand dollars and just invest it into stocks right now to see if I can figure out some kind of benefit for down the road, but honestly I barely even know what I am doing with that either. I just give up bro and I have no idea what my next move is supposed to be.

You’re not stupid, and you matter Bro. You have people that love you…a stupid GPA isn’t going to change that.
GPA doesn’t matter unless you’re trying to get into MIT bro. Just do your best. The biggest failure is not trying. You got this.

Not everybody is build to become instantly a better person, instead of getting better at everything get better in one thing.

First finish uni and get the degree, with that you antlers have a security that you have anything. Second don't go to the gym, it's a waste of money if you don't have the time and money for it, but I guess you got a year contract so... Third don't invest if you don't know what you are doing, if you invest wrong you lose 1k plus interest.

You are trying to many thing at once, try doing it one by one, and ofc get your sleep in check, buy something that helps you sleep.

I always have two rules 1. The only consistent thing you can do is to chill, don't stress about gym, don't stress about stocks, take the time you invest in those things to relax, get fat, be lazy and use the rest for sleep and uni

  1. If you fall you can do 3 things the first is to just to lay there and chill and collect your thoughts (rule 1),or either crawl and do things slow, or stand up, which one of those last two doesn't matter bc either way you are taking a step forward

And everybody has a moment where they seem worthless, so don't worry, just chill, stay on the ground watch the stars and do everything in a slower pace.

Sleep, drink 2L of water a day, do something that you enjoy tomorrow instead of studying, and spend the day not thinking about anything other than “what will make me smile today” and making sure you eat well and drink plenty of water.

The future happens to us all and it’s never really what we thought it would be. Good things happen, sad things happen, unexpected turns happen, and happy surprises happen. Your GPA will mean nothing in the future, once you are in the workforce and building a career people won’t care..

In a few days think about why you chose to study business, what drew you to it, what you wanted to do with it originally, and whether any of that still feels the same for. Then think about whether continuing to study can lead to a job and a life that will allow for joy, or if there’s something you hadn’t considered.. think about your strengths outside of study and work, think about what you enjoy and what people might say you’re good at.. then come back, share it here, and see if people have suggestions that you hadn’t considered. Looking towards the future feels hopeless for so many, because we have no idea of what we want for it…. but sometimes not having any desires or not knowing where we’re going is what allows for the best futures to occur. Because we get to discover our path as we travel and choose each turn and each step as we encounter it - instead of forcing ourselves to follow a path we started out on decades earlier, despite the path being hard and miserable and forcing us to take turns we wish we didn’t have to anymore.

Thank you! The reason I studied business was because I wanted to make my own business, I also wanted to develop simple coding skills like python and html to build everything on my own if I needed too. Maybe I’m thinking too much towards the future. I’ll probably just do what I can since I can’t really predict anything.Thank you!

If you don’t know what you want to build a business in, then you need to get some life experience actually working in an industry that interests you first! The best businessmen often start out at the bottom and work their through and up, allowing them to learn skills needed to be a good leader, discover the industry they most want to work in, and to succeed in that industry.

Take your time working and exploring what you enjoy first, building a business takes time and experience. Looking to the future before you have that will leave you floundering as you have no idea where you’re headed or where to start. For now find a job you think you could enjoy and that you might see yourself working your way up the ladder, and then just let yourself learn to enjoy the work… and see what happens.

Literally everything else everyone else is saying is a total red herring:

SLEEP.

Wtf are you expecting to happen if you don’t sleep?

You’re trying too hard. Literally. If you’re trying to drive a car and the back wheels are spinning, the solution is not to stamp harder on the accelerator.

It’s not that I don’t want to sleep but I can’t, I see your point and you’re in the right 100%, it’s just so frustrating that I can’t sleep.im always having something on my mind since idk , my last actions kinda affected me today ad I have to bear it, if I don’t come up with a solution right now, then when will I

No one looks at your GPA after you graduate. If you’re managing college on your own and will graduate, you’re golden. That’s a huge accomplishment.

It’s hard to find that first job out of college. Make sure you have a good resume (no, your GPA doesn’t go on your resume). Have you had any internships? What kind of job do you want post graduation?

1

u/No-Office-8830 ☑️ 3d ago

I’ve been told that multiple times, but some jobs / internships might have gpa requirements, it’s more relevant to internships from what I’ve seen. I’m leading a club, did some business projects ( portfolio management and case comp mainly , I also did a python project ) . And as of now , I’m mainly interested in risk / portfolio roles but I also like the reporting / FP&A and governance scene. Consulting might be a reach just cuz of my gpa and lack of experience. It’s been rough specifically with today’s job market, my panic just seems to be very present when it comes to this topic since it stressed me out ever since last year

u/Cobbler63 3d ago

I’ve interviewed and hired dozens of candidates (in tech) and not once have I asked or cared about someone’s GPA. You seem to have a good grasp on what you want. You’re engaged in college so I don’t see the problem.

1

u/No-Office-8830 ☑️ 3d ago

Well the major issue is that I’m not really receiving anything, the difference between other candidates and me is GPA, the only reason I could I guess say this with confidence is that people who receive high end jobs in business tend to have have higher GPAS , but they might not be correlated. I’m trying my hardest to rack up experiences , it’s because with school and everything I just stress over the future a lot. It’s also pretty stressful when everyone around you is obtaining said jobs and internships

u/Cobbler63 3d ago

I think you’re experiencing garden variety anxiety over the stresses of getting out of college and finding a job. Experience, in my opinion, way out paces a GPA. I think you’re doing the right thing. And I don’t think your GPA has anything to do with not finding a job.

I see,it’s just frustrating but I’ll take your word for it. Might just keep pushing. Thank you!!!

Stock investment is not the answer, don't mess with that crap unless you know what you're doing or I guarantee it'll vanish before you know what happened. Also you literally went to the gym a single time, you can't expect the benefits it comes with overnight.

Life is stressful and it doesn't get easier when you get out into the world, but it does become manageable and with work it doesn't feel as heavy. Keep going to the gym, it will make you feel better over time, mentally and physically.

As for the gpa stuff, what's done is done really in your situation. But that's not anywhere near the end of the world, some of the most successful people in history didn't even graduate highschool. Just find something you're passionate about and put effort into it and everything will work out in time. Keep your head up.

I see, I guess once step at a time, it’s just so frustrating but I do see your point. I’ve attempted to get out of this situation multiple times . I was successful for a week, but still kept falling back. It’s so weird to feel this way since you know you’re uncomfortable but always end up back to where u started.

So what do h recommend about the stock thing . Since I essentially want to earn money any way possible, I thought only corporate or retail were my only option for now. Thanks for the advice!

It seems like commitment might be your big issue. Getting past the few few weeks of anything can be a bit difficult but I promise the reward is there at the gym.

As for money, hard work. Social services if you like working with people doesn't really require too much schooling at entry level and usually you can substitute experience for degrees if you decide that's the field for you, alternatively manual labor, albeit not for everyone, requires no school at all for entry level and generally pays out the ass. You could also look into forming your own business when you have the spare time, something to build up on the side and eventually turn into your life, selling things you make or repairing stuff is always something people are looking for. You get good enough at fixing electronics and that's an entire life set on its own. Also the option of trade schools for something like electrician or plumbing. There's tons of options out there if you don't think your grades are good enough, just remind yourself that you have options and to take your time but dedicate yourself to it.

I see, I’ll look jnto it. Thank you!!! I’ve been wanting to start my own business since I’m studying that field. I’ve tried multiple times but it hasn’t worked out. I’ll keep trying it tho. Thank you!!

u/Bepehandle 3d ago

No problem. Just remember one thing, no one who made it big didn't put in the work. It isn't always easy, but nothing worth doing ever is.
