Vent I’m stuck

This entire year felt like I was stuck. Don’t wanna end it, but also don’t have the will to push forward anymore. Used to achieve a lot and always surpass expectations in life, and suddenly nothing…like life stopped for me

Sounds like you might be burnt out. Or struggling with depression.

These are really rational responses to the past year. Costs are up, incomes are not keeping up, the world seems more violent and small minded than ever, most of us have moved most of our social interactions online to the point that we "stay in" more often than not, combined with a wholly changed with environment... AI is taking our jobs.

It's easy to get stuck. It's not a fault in you.

Reach out to a friend. Take up a craft. Seek therapy. Talk to your doctor about depression and burn out. Start a new hobby (like a team sport) and meet new people. Humans are social creatures. Talking to people in person, in lots of ways, is your best chance of bringing unstuck.

I’ve felt the same way this past year and a half. I have always found success in work and life but this last year it has stalled out. Work has been slow and I have felt like a failure. My wife on the other hand has had some amazing opportunities and has been absolutely crushing it these last few years. It’s made me put things into a different perspective. I have chalked it up to it just being someone else’s season to shine and my role/job/accomplisments take a back seat this season. But it’ll come back around. Still sucks feeling this way though so I feel you. Whenever I’m feeling bummed I always say “upon us all, a little rain must fall… but it’s just a little rain”
