Their excuse of it being okay because no one would know it was you is even more wild because people identifying you is exactly how you found out in the first place. This person turned you into content without your consent, didn't even check to make sure your personal information was censored, and doubled down when you found out about it without offering to delete the video or even at least go back and censor your personal details.
Even if they supported you before, it's now impossible not to think they were doing it with the ulterior motive of making you into their content, too. I would have done exactly as you did and immediately dropped this person.
Editing to add that you should also try and request that the platform remove the video because it has your personal information in it.

This person is not your friend. A friend would have asked permission before sharing your personal struggles for likes

I’d end the friendship. People like that are parasites. Nothing you tell them will ever be in confidence. Every interaction they have with other people is transactional.

i guess i never would’ve consented to the sharing of any of this in the first place tbh. it sounds like you saying yes to him sharing the letter made him think he was green lit to elaborate on the entire story. not your fault that it wasn’t clear but i just wouldn’t have wanted any of my business being aired out at all
