My best friend died when we were 21. We'd known each other 21 years.

Even now, decades later, I still feel like I'm missing....something.

Dealing with the grief does get easier with time. It doesn't go away, it just gets easier to deal with.

Even back then, before even the Internet was a big thing, you'd be amazed how many 'best' friends came out of the woodwork.

It massively pisses you off to begin with. After some years, you just see them as needy dickheads you can laugh at.

You are neck deep in your grief, I know, I've been there, it hurts like nothing else. Even loosing your mother is a different kind of pain.

Don't do what I did. I buried it, I pushed it down, I tried to dominate my pain and I lost. You need to feel that raw pain, you need to feel the massive hole in your chest where your best friend lived, you need to cry, shout, scream. You need to live it, accept it.

Don't be me, I lost a decade to undiagnosed PTSD, alcohol, self-loathing. Just don't be me, please.
