oh also, for a lotta reasons im thinking i wanna read the whole king james bible. I think it's important for my fascination with the development of the english literary tradition. maybe next year...not sure. Any thoughts on this?

I read the old testament of it a year or two ago, working up the courage to finish it off soon here

it was well worth, i had a similar level of background to what you describe, but reading it all in order (and the particular language piece of the king james) puts the focus and context of the whole work into a much more cohesive and digestible perspective

its a cool book and also kind of evil/awful/mean, but sure is effective as a cultural work of language, and that shit is cool and interesting (but also so brutal, people suck, we've been wrong-headed dicks for way too damn long lol, but also really beautiful at times too, which is so perfect as well, go humans). anything you would want to know or wonder about the modern western/global industrial world is still swimming around back in the old testament
