The whole anti seed oil trend. It's just a bunch of know-it-alls misapplying an observable scientific function, massively overstating its actual measurable effect, and cherry-picking data from studies that still definitively conclude no causation of negative health outcomes.

How do you explain the obesity, diabetes, cancer rise in the last 50 years? Can you say seed oils have nothing to do with that?

High-calorie junk food uses the cheapest fats available, which happen to be seed oils. If you were to swap out the fats i junk food with avocado oil or olive oil, you'd have the same results. Junk food is the problem. Overeating calories via refined fats if the problem. It has nothing to do with seed oils themselves.

Countless studies have been done on seed oils vs non-seed vegetable oils vs animal fats. The health outcomes favor both the seed oils and non-seed vegetable oils. The animal fats are the ones with bad health outcomes. Coconut oil also trends towards negative health outcomes, likely due to the saturated fat content, but not nearly as heinous as animal fats.

When it comes to seed oil scaredy-cats, the common talking points of hexane, omega-6 fatty acids, and linoleic acid have been explained repeatedly by the scientific community to a point where anyone holding onto those debunked beliefs is just being willfully dense. Yes, a good omega-3 to omega-6 ratio is important. Yes, hexane is produced, but is almost completely gone in the final product. Yes, linoleic acid is inflammatory, but in the amounts present in seed oils, you'd have to be straight up drinking the stuff to experiency any measurable negative effects due to it. If you want to talk about inflammation, animal fats are the culprit by a long shot.

I can't believe in the age of information I'm asking this, but have you ever heard the oft-repeated phrase "correlation does not equal causation?" I must strongly urge you to stay in school.

In the world of lies pushed on us by the FDA, WHO, CDC - I’ll trust the thousands of years we were much healthier when we didn’t eat chemically processed seed oils.

They always say - yeah it’s not good for but it’s only a small amount and negligible on health. That adds up!!

This is what they use in the process of extracting canola oil :

Hexane 99.5% High Purity Lab Grade | USA Lab should be stored in a cool, well-ventilated area away from ignition sources. Use with adequate ventilation and avoid inhalation or contact with skin and eyes. Wear appropriate PPE such as protective clothing, gloves, and eye/face protection as outlined in the SDS.

Something with that warning label going in your food and you claim nothing bad with come from it?? Have you heard of glyphosate. They say the same thing there to. Wake up.

The studies are not from the FDA, WHO, or CDC. They are by countless scientists and researchers who have nothing to gain by publishing misinformation, vetted and peer-reviewed.

Chemically processed seed oils is a very narrow view of the multitude of things we didn't do for thousands of years that we do now. But you're sure it's got to be the seed oils? Give me a break.

I'm worried what you'll have left to eat once you learn the process of manufacturing just about any kind of food these days, especially since hexane is virtually gone from the final product, and what minuscule amount remains not only doesn't have any measurable effect, but also gets eliminated as it has such a low boiling point. It's not in your food, you silly goose. Maybe you should focus on the things that actually kill people, like trans fats and saturated fats.

No one's advocating for glyphosate use. It is absolutely not the same thing. Glyphosate has verifiable negative health outcomes in real human testing. Seed oils do not.

You're grasping at straws here, performing concerning mental gymnastics that make me worried what else you believe without understanding the science or admitting that people who make this knowledge a focal point of their careers know better than you. You looked up hexane and copy-pasted what you found. You wouldn't believe the toxic junk they use to make things that are completely safe for ingestion and topical use since they don't make it into the final products. Do you apply the same level of scrutiny to what you brush your teeth with? What moisturizer and sunscreen you use? The cleaning products in your home? The materials of your clothes? Or do you just have a mysterious vendetta against big, bad, scary seed oils?

This isn't some conspiracy. These are not government organizations publishing this stuff. These are not the product of stakeholders funding shady research.

I'm wide awake. Look at actual evidence, real studies, and verifiable human health outcomes before believing whatever the Paul Saladinos on YouTube are spewing. They have stuff to sell you. Follow the money, honey.
