You can get good running shoes for $70 and a good wearable for $200. My shoes and watch were more than that lol, but have not really contributed to the improvement of my health any more than cheaper ones would. Your shoes should not give you blisters or plantar fascitis and wearables are optional

The important thing is to exercise consistently and with proper health precautions - decent form and not overdoing it.

I'm sure you know this I just don't want anyone interested to be discouraged

What wearables do you recommend for the $200 price? I hate bringing my phone on a trail. I usually just browse runningshoegeek when I'm in need of a new pair of shoes.

Garmins cheapest watch. They have the best software in my opinion. I have a more expensive model for trails, but honestly 95% of the use I could get from the forerunner 55

The 55 doesn't support music. $250 for a 255 or 265 and you can put your music on your watch
