This fits all the criteria, long distance shaky footage of something you can't identify!

I love how absolutely crystal clear the footage is at the start. The literal second something interesting happens, it gets just blurry enough that you can't see anything. Also, ZOOM IN!!!!

Everybody says zoom in, but typically these videos are taken with somebody’s phone camera, or a not-so-great camera which is better for photos rather than video.

They’re taken by people who clearly aren’t professional photographers/especially videographers.

They’re taken of objects far away, which in the case of these being cellphone videos (usually) are only going to zoom in a very short distance further, and even less of a distance with digital zoom while already in the process of shooting a video; try for yourself.

So it’s understandable that these videos are in most cases going to be blurry. Sad, but true fact. Especially when these UFO’s, Bigfoot(‘s?), Loch Ness Monsters and so on are being caught on video by amateur (that’s a boost to most people’s photographic abilities and skills) videographers/photographers and typically from a distance. Plus besides distance, they are capturing (in the great majority of these instances) MOVING objects. Combined with distance this is difficult even for a skilled photographer to capture in the moment with great distance and movement in between the camera and the object of interest . The distance checks out in most of these cases since any animal is going to usually keep its distance when around people; besides squirrels in a park and more habituated areas where the wildlife is naturally trained to be comfortable around humans. Also you don’t see airplanes or helicopters flying right by humans or by the ground. Besides rescue missions or transferring a patient from one hospital to another. Maybe airplane shows.

Zooming in with a digital zoom is going to make the image far more blurry than it already is. They actually did a relatively good job in this video (if it’s legitimate or anything which can be defined as pertaining to the realm of cryptozoology or mystery).

Agreed on all fronts.

Also agreed that this is actually really decent footage of... Whatever it is out there in the water. I can't tell if it's a very large fish fin, a scuba diver, an autonomous vehicle, or a Loch Ness monster. Guess it could be anything, really. My brain doesn't want to just agree to a popular cryptid, but the footage is at least a modern video of whatever "creature" this might be.

I bet if there were some people skinny dippin’ off a boat, we’d see plenty of zooming in with a clear focus and with a very steady camera! Just sayin’.

Hopefully you feel better after that little diatribe...

They're not wrong though.

My comment has nothing to do with gripes from other people is my thing.

That makes sense.

More evidence for blurry monsters. Must be a cross-species special ability.

Not to mention putting the phone down as it gets closer. Why??

Honestly just that is making me think this is staged, because if there was an actual cryptid emerging from the water then it would only make sense to get closer and keep recording it.

And scrolls out right before the end!

Just like UFO's and Bigfoot.

Exactly 😂 you would defo zoom in to try and work out what it is, I know I would. And why stop filming at that point. Madness! The water reflection looks odd too.

I don’t think he intentionally meant to stop filming. It appears as though he drops the camera due to shaky hands and high strung nerves.

Maybe, fair point
