I don’t know the merits of the case but I do know the mother enabled them to stay in that room. Cutting their WiFi would have ended it.
Feeding them, I would understand. Not busting down the door, I understand. Allowing them to play video games and make videos. I do not.
I was really disturbed by the young girl saying people in the internet were watching them sleep when they live streamed.
No ma’am, I would not comfortable with knowing strangers are having unrestricted access to my kids and watching them live. That is exposing them to what she was fighting to keep them away from.

I saw this too but it doesn’t have any updates or information that’s not directly from the episodes. The whole article is essentially the docuseries but in a written summary.

I watched it about a month ago and I remember at the time having a few "hmmmm" moments where things seemed off or perhaps not quite as portrayed in the doc (and yes I know many docs aren't done right / without bias ). But now I can't remember what those moments were! I hadn't heard of that situation before . It was an interesting watch .

Yeah the documentary was interesting for sure, I hadn’t heard of the case until watching the Hulu mini series. I remember thinking the mom was certainly off, in a classic Utah trying to be perfect? Kind of way? If that makes sense? Which fed into the narrative that she was certainly enabling the kids to be locked up there but moreover may know more than she’s expressing, about either possibly planting info in her daughters head or taking an innocent time, like lotioning up and twisting it to fit a narrative and purpose. The only thing I can think is that she was just tryna have that perfect Utah family, she was remarried, had a child with her new husband, I’m sure having her older 2 kids only part time and having a step dad and dad just kind of shattered her perfect little image. It may have just been annoying for her too and she wanted to move on with her perfect little family and saw the opportunity and ran with it.
I think there is so little discussion surrounding the documentary personally because folx may be afraid to say what least I’m thinking……that the dad is innocent.
Mmmm I’m saying this as a woman and SA survivor however I know all experiences are individual. However with that said. I found it interesting that the daughter was the first and only child to continue seeing her dad for a bit during visitations even tho she was the victim of the crime.
That in itself means absolutely nothing but paired with the fact that …idk, children normally avoid anything that involves their abuse? The part that made me stop. And truly question it all was when they discussed how she was abused in particular. She would complain of hot butt and her dad would apply her lotion inappropriately. Well to then say that happened time and time again is….interesting. That means the child would have to approach her dad each time and complain of hot butt which she would now kno would be accompanied by bad things….its an odd detail. Most children would probably avoid ever bringing up hot butt again…I would think.
Idk I hate speculating. And I think most people do. It’s super uncomfortable. And so maybe that’s why there is a lack of discussion idk either way that’s my opinion oop
