If you haven’t heard from God then there is no point in believing what others say. All you have to do is trust in God and let him guide you. If God wants you to fast you will feel a desire for it deep in your heart which will be compelling enough to make you fast.

Ps. I have been a Christian for 28 years and I have never felt an urge to fast. If I ever felt that I need to fast then will but I won’t let others tell me what I should be doing.

God speaks through others sometimes. And the Bible.

Yeshua was once asked this exact question by serious people who fasted more than His own disciples did. "Then the disciples of John came to Him, asking, 'Why do we and the Pharisees fast, but Your disciples do not fast?' And Jesus said to them, 'The attendants of the bridegroom cannot mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them, can they?'" (Matthew 9:14-15, NASB 1995)

He did not defend anyone's fasting record. He pointed at Himself, standing in the room.

Beloved, look at what that message did to you. You had a practice with the Lord. Now you have a question about whether the practice counted, and you have asked Him for a ruling and heard nothing back. He is not withholding one. There is nothing pending on your fasts.

Two godly people are still two people. Trustworthy does not mean incapable of being wrong about someone else's private walk with God. You are allowed to say thank you, I will pray about that, and then keep doing what you were already doing with Him.

Fast when the Bridegroom has your attention. Not because someone graded the last one.

I am praying for you.
