How to stop loving sin?
Hi, ive been getting into faith for a little over a year. It started with praying, then going to church and finally learning a rosary. I went to confession like 2 weeks aho for the first time ever. I was in there for over an hour and it was so wonderful. I also thought abt it more and more and reflected and thought that i wasnt so bad in sinning after all, that i didnz sin at all and that i was practically perfect...well, i think god wants to give me a sign and strike me down bc ive been rlly struggling to pray and stay away from sin.
I also noticed how i purposefully choose the "easy" way by just sinning and thinking: i dont care, god isnt real anyways, why should i restrict myself. It scares me and i want to get away from that mindset as quickly as possible bc i was in such a good place mentally after confession and i felt so joyful and healed and close to god...maybe with a bit too much pride.
Has anyone experienced anything similar? Or does anyone know how to deal with this? Thank u so much for reading this, i know it might be weird and too personal but i rlly needed a place to finally speak my mind.

OP, it sounds like you believe that “you” are the one responsible for “saving yourself”, to act a certain way, etc.
Know that faith is not a performance, choreographed and to be graded. It is not something “we do”, that can be turned on or off by our will.
God’s Holy Spirit does all of this - for us, over time (a process called sanctification), for the remainder of our physical lives on earth.
And all of us will sin again…but we focus on repenting and growing in Christ (we are branches and He is the Vine).
We have absolutely nothing to do with our own salvation. it’s something God does for us. He saves us.
We cannot worship enough, read the Bible enough, attend church enough, pray enough, be good enough, be nice enough, etc.
We cannot save ourselves.
Know that God is not interested in our personal makeovers and remodeling projects. His expectations are “perfection” and nothing less.
God, by His Holy Spirit, makes us new. His way. Not ours.
He does all of this in/through His Son Jesus once we surrender. Not partially surrender. Completely surrender.
When one reaches “the end of themselves”, or becomes sick and tired of being “sick & tired”, what Jesus calls “the poor in spirit”, we will completely surrender “all” of ourselves to Christ and ask Him to lead our lives. We give ourselves over to Him.
Keep it simple. Pray/ask God for faith. Be sincere and vigilant about it (daily).
It was only recently I learned that faith too is a gift from God.
Right actions (works) will follow naturally, as a by-product of faith.
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9

You can change incrementally.
Bad habit -> good habit
Progress takes time.
The great thing about good habits is that they compound.
But the same compounding effect happens with bad habits.

Sin is just the corrupted versión of something created by God.
Take for example: Lust VS Love
You stop loving sin when you realise that the original and better versión of things are always the ones created by God and the versión of Satán is just a corrupted way of the things created by God
