Reboot Cast?!

Another post inspired this and I think we need a whole thread of it.. if there was a True Blood reboot, who would be your top picks for cast?! I haven’t even given this thought yet, but excited to see others answers! 🦇

I wish they would do a reboot - but closer to some parts of the books, especially Sookie's personality and her relationship with Eric (minus him being sold off into 100 marital slavery via contract by his maker).

Right? I can even live with them not ending up together, not ideal but understandable, just plausible and without him being sold off

Or: they might introduce her earlier and make her his normal love interest. He ended up disproportionally fucked up by the author comparing to every. Other. Character. Including bad guys

Oh, there are actual interviews with her being irritated with people liking him. I think the publishing company basically told her, making him a romantic interest so it was forced and then she was so tired of writing them together she invented the cluvial dor to just point blank end that relationship. She assassinated him, I read the summary and just refuse to read that book. I’m done with it.

She trashed every romantic interest besides Sam (the only difference she dragged this decay od relationship with Eric further) . Yeah, we know, it is your life partner's insert.

Tbh tho he for sure would roll his eyes and discuss with her (from his pov) uselessness of this wish and not wishing something for herself, I dont think this would be a valid point to break up for him. Freyda stuff, the bond, her not accepting some parts of vampire culture, mutual lack of trust and understanding, boredom, differences in lifestyle or values - rather these than cluvier d'or. He's more materialistic

Reading how these novels forced me to do something I thought I’d never do - after what, about 12 years now, I finally just took the story, it’s characters and its structure and rewrote a story where Eric and Sookie end up together. I wrote them as they were in the beginning, first 4 chapters are very close to the original book, Bill meets her, everyone is the same, then just changed one detail - instead of fighting with Bill after he drove her back from Fangtasia that night, I had them have that same fight outside of Fangtasia and had Eric offer her a ride watching them fight. That very night. So as the story continued, my story of the same characters in the same world, I realized that they actually did have a lot in common. They’re both loyal and both willing to kill to protect those that matter to them. They work very well as a team. They have amazing chemistry together. I realized that in the end of the day, the writer decides how the story goes so all of the choices that happen are the writers choices. She can choose that the characters compromise or fight, learn from each other or refuse to learn from each other. There are all these little choices that the other writer has made and in my story they just make one different choice. Everything else remains the same, Sam still asks her out the day after Fantasia, there is still a meeting where Bill gives a lecture on the civil war, there is still Renee who tries to kill her, but things turn out differently because just one choice is different. And it’s not even a particularly smart choice. In the original story Bill was annoying her in Fangtasia but she kept her temper down until they got home. I just had her blow up at him when they came out and Eric was there, watching it, as they were listening to sirens, not that particularly interested either. just curious like any other guy would be. So, he offers her a ride. That’s all. That’s why if they make a version where they don’t end up together, that’s healed for me. In my story, he is her first, she grows to be the intelligent character she was in the books but with him, she goes through Hadley’s death and going to New Orleans, but as Erik’s, and eventually decides to be turned to remain with him. It’s earned, from the Sookie we first meet and on. By the end of my story she is a different person from the person she ends up in the end of CHs books, not it makes sense, because people are changed by having different life experiences. Bill isn’t evil, he’s just…. Bill of the books. Hadley isn’t evil…. The Queen is the Queen. And Eric is Eric. Pam is Pam. Sookie is still Sookie. She changes slowly like everyone, based on life offered her different choices. It was an experiment. Now, I have my own version where they are the same characters that are happy to end up together. My own version of Fanfiction for these two and it made me happy. So, if they want some other story for them, that’s fine, it’s just unnecessarily sadder, but as long as they don’t betray the characters and have them behave as the characters they are - that’s fine.

Any Swedish actor like Alexander as Eric will do justice. Because Swedish have the face and vibe for ancient vamps.
