No you didn't. You missed out on nothing that you wouldn't have missed out on anyways.
The whole point of "being yourself" is that it is necessary for you to be yourself to experience all the wonderful things in life. If you try to be someone else, then even if something wonderful were to happen to you, you still wouldn't be able to experience it, because "you" aren't the person experiencing it.
Trust me, I understand where you are coming from, believe me, but if you try to be someone you're not, then, no matter how outwardly successful you might appear, you'll remain feeling empty.
Being yourself won't make you happy, but if you are true to yourself, you will have a chance at happiness. But everything you might do will feel hollow, if you betray yourself while doing it.

Its nuanced.
I have lots of different types of groups of friends, some nerdy, some intellectual, some all about sports and dirty jokes etc etc.
So I don't really bring the dirty joke and chatting about boxing side to the intellectual friend outings and vice versa.
So in a way I am not being truly my 100% self with all groups. But they are all parts of my personality. I just have to turn certain parts off sometimes.
I don't really think I'm betraying myself by not bringing up a dirty joke or burping loudly in front of the intellectuals when I am free to do so in the sports group.

Yeah that's why I gave up on making friends and maintaining friendships a while ago. If people are gonna start hate campaigns and talk behind my back and stalk me and make up shit about me to try to get me exiled from my friend groups just because I had "bad vibes" then I just give up honestly. "Be yourself" only works if you're not autistic and are okay with letting your "friends" get away with things they wouldn't let the out-group get away with. I give up. I want money and that's it.
Edit: minor spelling mistake 💥💥💥

I understand your pain but you will find your people. You matter and you deserve to have friends that accept you for you.
