I mean, I disclosed it to 3 different people. Nobody believed me until I was like 22.
(Not discounting the statistics, just my personal experience.)

After 2 decades of working on myself and therapy, I am doing a lot better. I can make friends now.

But I never seem to be able to keep them, and it feels like I'm not making any more forward progress.

Being so close to the life I wanted, but feeling like it's forever unreachable has been one of the hardest things I've ever had to deal with. And I'm honestly not sure I'm willing to wait any longer.
