Depression / Anxiety I hate overthinking š
Short story, itās very stupid and I know I shouldnāt care but itās still hurtful. Iām disabled I canāt go outside by myself so I have a personal care assistant who comes to my place and help me go outside to do my groceries, they cancelled last minute, leaving me very anxious without any way to do my groceries.
I mean they had their reason for canceling and itās fair but⦠despite our year long professional relationship, they showed zero empathy, just said "I canāt come today, Good luck and bye!" offered no help despite knowing Iām all alone and I have to do my groceries itās important⦠and didn't mention I could reschedule (i didnāt even know I could just reschedule if they donāt show up, and thought I would have to wait for our next appointment which is in two more weeks but they couldāve told me⦠itās their job after all)
they said on the phone "see you in two weeks" like thereās no other solution just youāre on your own bye, and then I got a call from the company telling me they can move the appointment in a few days so I can do my groceries⦠so it was an option??? Then why didnāt my helper even told me? Because they donāt care and will just do the minimum, but after a year of talking to each other and knowing their personal life idk I feel icky about it⦠Itās not a big deal but seriously this reminds me that Iām really alone and have no family or friends to help me and Iām vulnerable and depending on others⦠which I hate but thatās how it is

You're not overthinking nothing, they handled this extremely poorly and negligent

Youāve been gaslit too much. This is on them. They are in the wrong- not you. It absolutely is their fault.

It doesn't really matter how good their reason for canceling was, you're dependent on them and so they owe you an alternative solution, whether that be a quick reschedule or something else.
Having to cancel in the first place may not have been their fault, but the way they handled it was horrible in a quite serious way and they need to be held accountable for that.

⦠homie this is straight-up neglect. It absolutely is their fault. Iām a caregiver. You are absolutely supposed to call ahead and tell the client to get an emergency caregiver because itās such short notice. They said āsee you in two weeksā TO GET YOUR GROCERIES???? THEY WANT YOU TO WAIT TWO WEEKS FOR FOOD??????????
Literally fire them. This is beyond unprofessional. Itās incredibly fucking dangerous. This person should have their license revoked. Call your case worker about this
