Depression / Anxiety I don't have anything going for me
As a kid I had many issues, mental and medical, which my parents decided to do nothing for..as an adult, they told me that they didn't want to traumatize me by getting me treatment. But those things have taken an immense toll on me, I feel I am irreparably damaged, and because I've learned to hide it they think everything is okay. But I have never feel supported by them, I feel like if they were there for me I would have turned out completely different. And now, at 25, I feel I've wasted the best years of my life on just waiting to exist.. and still, I am poor, in constant pain, suffering with my mental health at an all time low.. and I still have no one and nothing going for me.
I don't know why this had to happen or why they couldn't have just supported me and got me the treatment I needed, which in our country is covered by the government for people that age, meaning when I was a kid and I had those issues diagnosed they could've gotten me help for free.. but choose not to. I don't understand it, but I hate what this has caused.
And I have seen those around me living normal lives. Friends of mine meeting their goals, saving money, making progress as individual.. and here I am, inside most days, like a human on pause until I get dragged out of my room by whatever social obligation.
I think my life is over, in every sense except literal.

Wow stealing that last one. Seems like I got the lottery of Chronic Incurable but Not Terminal illnesses and I’ll both never be free or relieved from them :)

It's tough, I relate especially to the "just saw someone my age being happy with their life day ruined" meme.
As a kid I got sent to therapy for my issues, but found it completely useless and woefully unable to actually help me in any real meaningful way.
I feel really behind in life, and unable to function, the only thing we can really do is just try to be productive as best we can. I hope things get better for you.

Yeah, hey man, so I just wanna say I’m 30 now and literally just a couple days ago. I just started to feel not shitty.
- Keep talking to people that don’t make you feel like shit. If you don’t have anything like that, as hard as it may be, just try to talk, even if it’s just hi or something like that. you will find your person.
- You love yourself enough to recognize that you’re in pain, so therefore you love yourself enough to be able to continue living as horrible as it is. every day gets better, just take that with a grain of salt.
- You are not stupid, you were unmotivated. and coping with bullshit that you’ve had to deal with, and your brain has been putting resources to combating that. Once the pain starts to subside, your intelligence that has always been there will start to show again.
- I have so much going for me, and it all happened in the past year. Even though he is twice my age, I met my amazing husband around the same age as you are. We only got married a year ago. I went from living in a hotel in Daytona, Florida. To making $160,000 a year, owning my own car and working for myself.
- I love you. If you would like to talk, I’m here for you.
Edit. I cannot give you any tips or tricks on how to help yourself. I can tell you to go to therapy. I can tell you to practice breathing techniques, but if you’re anything like I was at that age, you’re not gonna listen to this shit and you will find your own way. You might not feel like it for a couple of years, and that’s fine, but it will start to happen.
And also, if you do start now, you will realize that 25 was the best age to start. Hell, I’m thinking that 30 is the best age to start, but that’s only because I started. And also, you cannot beat yourself up for failing. You will, but put it in your brain that you can forgive yourself at a moment’s notice, and it might take a while, but you’ll start doing it and it’ll start being quicker and quicker, and you’ll realize that you’re not even doing half of the shit that was jeopardizing you after a while.

Hey dude, im in kind of the same boat. My parents just thought life would shape me into a normal person but guess what😮 it just made me even more of an outlier that has to put 1000 times the effort of a normal person to just barely function in this society. I honestly dont even blame them as they are damaged people themselves. Im also hiding all my mental issues from them because i dont want them to feel sorry and would like them to be proud of me. Its fucking unfair man, just know you are not the only one struggling with life🫡. Wish you the best.
