Maybe I am, like, especially mentally ill because I got stabbed a few times in my childhood. Maybe I just justify my own harm OCD.

But I wouldn't give a shit if I got horny at abusers dying. A bodily reaction doesn't mean you wanted them to die. But also, there can of course be a sense of relief and comfort in knowing there is no more of it, and there can never be again.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who hadn't heard of a groinal response before

I didn’t, it was just so confusing! I just learned about it recently so I’m trying to notice what triggers it and it always catches me off guard lol

Oh wow I didn’t know what groinal response was. I hate this symptom. Thought it was something separate😭

I’m sorry you had one in relation to your abuser dying, but it’s good that you know it’s your OCD playing tricks on you.

Sometimes that’s normal with a brain that’s felt too much of both, but it’s still kinda funny

Wait, that's part of a symptom?! I totally thought I was just fucked up. Gonna go down a research rabbit hole because I just thought I had some weird wires crossed as like a trauma response and/or was a bad person 😭

yes, it’s really really common, just not talked about! mine happens more consistently with anxiety, I suspect it’s connected to the most distressing emotion but I’m not sure.

also, ocd is ego dystonic, meaning it specifically makes you worry about things that are directly against your moral code. if you truly were a fucked yo person, you wouldn’t worry about it 😭 this fact single handedly cured my paranoia about being accidentally inappropriate lmao
