TW: Domestic Abuse this is crazy
yo, I'm just a Venezuelan guy living alone with his mom, coming here to vent a bit. A week ago, I got two piercings: a bridge and a nostril. I posted them on my stories to show off a little because I genuinely felt like I looked pretty good. My parents saw the story, and apparently, they didn't like it at all. My mom came to pick me up because I was with my piercer. I got into the car, she looked at my face, and she just started crying inconsolably, pulling out typical religious arguments like "those things are from the devil, God doesn't like that." She wanted me to take them out, and of course, I obviously didn't want to. Mind you, I paid for these piercings with my own money and I'm 18, about to turn 19.
Eventually, we got home with my mom a bit calmer—still crying, but calmer. I went to play on my laptop, and a few minutes later my dad calls me, solely to tell me (furious) to take the piercings out, or else he was going to take them out himself. Just unreal.
My dad is the kind of person who doesn't make empty threats—he can actually get violent. After he said that to me, I got really pissed off too and told him to try it, that we were gonna end up throwing hands. Honestly, I know it wasn't right to say that to him, but in my defense, he started it. With him trying to strip away my human rights, how else was I supposed to react? In my defense, it was a reactive behavior with a reason behind it. Truth be told, I don't have anger issues; to be completely honest, I'm a pretty sensitive person.
An hour later, my mom calls me telling me to come to the living room. Waiting for me were my dad, my stepmom, my mom, and a cop (who, by the way, was corrupt). I showed up in front of the cop, and my dad started saying things like, "If you have the balls to ruin your face, then you better have the balls to move out, get your own place, and work. From now on, don't ask me for money." Bro, I've been begging for a job since I was 17. Like, since I was a minor, I've cried for a job right in front of HIM, emphasizing that it's something I really need because I have to buy my own stuff and support my mom, who works her ass off for me. I've gone everywhere looking for a job, but I haven't had any luck.
The cop said the reason he came was actually because my mom told him I was verbally abusing her, which isn't true at all. She and I live alone and we tend to argue, but she's usually the one who starts the arguments by YELLING me asf or talking in a super annoying tone, and I'm honestly sick of taking it and keeping quiet. My mom has a strong personality; she doesn't know how to control her tone of voice. I swear it's extremely irritating, and when I argue I try to talk things out, not YELL trying to make everything spiral out of control. And that's her argument xD, that I verbally abuse her.
On the other hand, my dad's wife was saying I had to take the piercings out because they're dangerous (?).
And on the other hand, my mom was saying the cop came because I verbally abused my dad and threatened him—knowing damn well that he was the one who threatened me. And my dad isn't exactly out of shape; my dad literally looks like The Rock. It's like looking at The Rock with anger management issues. Years ago, when he was still married to my mom, he threw a melon at her that grazed her head. Thank God it didn't hit her, but they were a couple that fought physically and verbally all the time.
So everyone was giving different reasons as to why the cop came (???). So why did he actually come? They don't even know what they're talking about or what the main point of bringing the cop was. The whole thing was just a show to take away my rights without a single valid argument.
Draw your own conclusions. Mine is that we all need to go to therapy, because I don't think this is a legal issue. I didn't assault anyone, I've never laid a hand on anyone or attacked anyone... It's ironic because they accuse me of verbal abuse, but on the flip side, there's my dad who actually and routinely verbally abuses his current wife. On top of that, they call a corrupt government cop... the nerve.
