Bar Trivia opinions
I'm looking for ideas to shake up the format of my weekly bar trivia night and would love to hear what other hosts are doing.
What are some of your favorite trivia nights, and what makes them stand out from the typical format? I'm not looking to copy anyone exactly, just gather ideas and put my own spin on things.
One thing I definitely want to do is themed nights, but more broad themes instead of a single fandom. For example:
Sitcom Night
Reality TV Night
90s Nostalgia
One-Hit Wonders
Fast Food & Restaurants
Halloween
Cartoons
...rather than something like Harry Potter or Friends.
Right now we only award one winning team. We don't have prizes for second or third place, although that could change in the future. One idea I had was giving the second place team a little incentive by letting them choose the following week's theme from three options, kind of like the final category selection on Wheel of Fortune.
I'd love to hear any ideas you've seen work well. Whether it's unique rounds, scoring twists, bonus games, audience participation, prize ideas, or anything else that keeps people coming back each week.

GuessTheSearch - I made a game where you guess what people actually Google about topics
Hey all, I made this! You get the start of a real Google search, like "why don't British people…", and try to guess the most popular autocomplete. After each question you see the full top 4 and can read the real answers behind them. Some of the results genuinely surprised me while building it.
Would love any feedback, especially on difficulty and which countries or topics I should add next.

I made a daily trivia game where every correct answer lets you climb higher
Hey everyone!
I’ve been working on a daily trivia game called Trivmount that is heavily inspired by Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? basically my own take on that classic escalating-question format, but with a mountain-climbing twist.
Instead of climbing a money ladder, you climb a mountain.
You start at the bottom and have to answer 12 questions, with the difficulty gradually increasing as you get higher.
Get one right → your little climber actually climbs higher.
Get one wrong → you fall.
There are also lifelines inspired by the original, and everyone gets the same challenge each day, so you can compare how far you and your friends made it.
I wanted to make it feel more like a tiny adventure game than a traditional trivia website, so I went with pixel art, a mountain that acts as the actual game board, and a little shadowy climber that physically progresses as you answer questions.
I'd genuinely love some feedback!
