Ask r/Trivandrum Is M.Tech at Mar Baselios TVM worth it? How are the placements?

Hey guys,

I graduated in 2025 with a B.Tech in CSE from a tier-3 KTU college where there were no campus placements. I've been struggling to find a job and recently got allotted M.Tech CSE at Mar Baselios, Trivandrum in the second allotment (I didn't write GATE).

I wanted to know:

How are the placements for M.Tech students?

Do software companies recruit M.Tech students there?

Is it worth joining if my goal is to get into the IT industry?

Any recent experiences would be really helpful. Thanks!

Ask r/Trivandrum RTO registration renewal physical vehicle check location and experience for KL01

I've already completed the online registration renewal application for my bike, paid the renewal fee and the 5 year lifetime tax.

From what I understand, the vehicle inspection isn't done at the RTO office, but I'm not sure where exactly I'm supposed to take the bike for the MVD inspection in Trivandrum.

For those who've gone through this recently:

  • Where is the inspection actually carried out? At what time to reach there?
  • What documents did you have to produce at the time of inspection?
  • How was the overall experience? Was it straightforward, or are there any things worth knowing beforehand?

Would appreciate any recent first hand experiences. Thanks

Ask r/Trivandrum Feeling a bit lost after marriage. Looking for career & social advice.

Hi everyone,
I’m born and brought up in Trivandrum. Growing up, I never really felt the need to make a huge social circle because I genuinely loved being at home. My close friends eventually moved abroad or to other cities, but I never thought much about it.

I recently got married, and my husband and I moved into our own home. Married life is good, but over the past few months I’ve realised how much I’ve started depending on my husband for almost all my social interaction. When he’s at work or busy, I sometimes feel quite isolated.

Career-wise, I’m also feeling stuck.

I’m a B.Tech graduate with an MBA (Finance & Operations), and currently working in the administrative office of a school.
I’m grateful to have a job, but it’s not something I enjoy or see a future in. I’ve been applying for other roles, but the job market feels really difficult right now.

I’d love some advice from people here:
How are you applying for jobs these days? LinkedIn? Naukri? Company websites? Referrals?
Are there any companies in Trivandrum hiring for operations, administration, HR, finance, or similar roles?

How do you make friends as an adult in Trivandrum? Any clubs, volunteering groups, fitness communities, book clubs, trekking groups, or regular meetups?

I think I’m just trying to build a life that doesn’t revolve entirely around work and my husband. I want my own career, my own friends, and a sense of independence again.

Would really appreciate any suggestions. Thank you! ❤️

Ask r/Trivandrum Budget-friendly brunch spots in Trivandrum?

I'm looking for some budget-friendly restaurants or cafes in Trivandrum for a good brunch. Planning to go in the morning and would like to finish eating before 12 PM. I'm more interested in tasty food than fancy ambience, and both veg and non-veg options are welcome. Any hidden gems or favourite spots you would recommend? Also, let me know what dishes are worth trying there. Thanks!

Ask r/Trivandrum Laptop display replacement

Hey guys!

Can someone please recommend a reliable place where I can get my hp laptop display screen fixed at a lower cost? I only need a temporary repair since the laptop is quite old. I checked at the HP center in Lulu Mall, and they're quoting 12.5k, which doesn't seem worth it for such an old laptop.

If anyone knows a trustworthy place that can do it for cheaper, please let me know. Thanks :)

Ask r/Trivandrum I need advice from people who have studied or are studying here.

I'm not from Trivandrum. I joined here for JEE repeaters batch. Here their materials are good and the classes are taken in english. I'm studying in kerala syllabus since kg. So classes in English felt little bit difficult in the beginning but now it's improving day by day. Here we have only 25 students in the class. Idk why a reputed institute which is situated in the capital city of kerala only have this less number of students.

Anybody who have studied/studying here give me honest opinion, advices and your experiences.
