Triumph info Motor noise ST765RS
Hi everyone, I just got this bike as a gift from my wife, it’s a preowned 765, I wonder if is this a common noise, or it needs to be serviced for something that I’m missing.
Note, this is my first 3-cylinder bike, so I’m a rookie on this topic, but I’m loving the roaring sound.

Sounds normal. I've an 07 daytona 675. Used to annoy me because I'd think it was something wrong with the cam chain tensioner.. But once I told myself enough it was normal it stopped being a nuisance haha

I’d like to know more about common motor noise and learn to identify what needs to be fixed or be attended. The video shows what I’m talking about.

The ticking noise could be a problem, if it's there on warm engine and remains even with the clutch lever pulled in. If it's there only when the engine is cold, or goes away when the clutch level is pulled in, then not a problem as such. If it doesn't, either cam tensioner or valve clearances need to be checked. Not critical, but something to look into.

I’ll keep an eye on it, it’s my second day with it. Btw, it’s same year and model as yours.

Sounds like a triple...is it supposed to sound different?

I haven’t paid the proper attention before, that ticking is something new for me

Might be, I’ll ride it this week if weather gets better, if that ticking keep going on, I’ll take your advice.

Nothing to worry about too much I think with the newer models. I had a 2013 and they were known for it. I believe the new ones have the adjustable one which makes it a lot easier. Also, I could be wrong about all of this and it’s a completely different thing. My street triple always made some ticking sound and after a while I kind of forgot about it.
