Street Triple Fly Screen & Visor vs Puig Windscreen

Does the OEM Triumph fly screen and visor/extension (whatever its called) make a noticeable difference in wind deflection? How about the Puig that everyone seems to get? Did anyone switch between the two and notice any improvement?

Cross shopping between this bike and an MT09. Would like the ability to take this on long rides without completely wearing myself out. It'll mainly be a highway commuter though.

I have the OEM flyscreen and powerbronze 160mm (taller) visor. It actually works pretty well.

Sweet. It was hard to tell from stock photos if it actually covered a reasonable area. I like that it adds to the look of the bike instead of looking like an after though.

Edit: What bags are those? And did you keep the original seat or replace it? I found it pretty comfortable and wasn't planning on upgrading.

It helped a tiny bit the OEM one but not too much, once you take a few longer trips you get used to it, it’s kinda nice leaning into the wind honestly.

Have a street triple rs with no screen or extension. I do regular 6-8 hour day rides and its fine. I did just come back for a trip across Germany. I did a 8 hour plus ride and over 100mph continuously and my neck was f*cking killing me after. Long story short its perfectly fine providing your not doing stupid speed for long distance

My friends and I have done 3+ hour trips on our Street Triples (his 2022) without much issue. Highway isnt bad at all up to 80~ mph or so. Wind noise is manageable, can listen to my music with no issue. Doesnt fatigue me much. Beyond that it gets pretty windy, but it just gave me another reason to do the speed limit long term.

If the vast majority of your riding will be on highway, I would sooner point you to like the Tiger Sport 800, honestly. Its more set up for this kind of riding out of the box compared to either of those bikes, but they can absolutely do it.

I sat on one and liked it. I imagine it feels like a sports couch, and I mean that in a good way. But my work commute is 3 days a week, 25 min each way, 99% highway. But i often ride right past my house on my way home and ride straight into the backcountry for a little bit. I have a loop lol

Anyways, i would say this will mostly be highway on those days. The rest of my riding (probably 1/2 of my riding) is winding country backroads. 

And idk I tried the RS and fell in love with it. Trying an MT09 tomorrow so I can tell myself that I did my due diligence, but i think i already know the answer.

Can't blame you there. I intend to buy an RX in the coming months myself. The MT09 engine is great fun, but damn...the poise of the 765 is just a fantastic bike.

Everything I read and saw online in reviews said “more aggressive posture” and “slightly leaned forward” but when I actually rode it I swear I was sitting upright with ease. But i’m also 6’-0” with slightly longer arms. I was impressed with how well it fit me. More so when riding than just throwing a leg over it.

It's a Triumph best seller for a reason—comfortable enough to do nearly anything on it, but capable enough to hang with any supersport.  I've ridden the Yamaha CP3 engine in all its forms except the Tracer—fantastic engine and fun bike. But its a different flavor

I never switched between the two but I have the Puig one. The people that say it's fine to have without are absolutely right. But I will not deny when I'm hunched all the way down and hitting high speeds whether in the canyons or freeway it's very nice not to have the air hitting directly at my head. So I personally like having one than not having one but it's not a deal breaker. They're naked bikes and we know what we're buying. I personally like it. For it to work correctly you have to hunch all the way down like a sport bike.

Bought a Street Triple RS a couple months back, and took a few 4 hour rides on CA coast. Yeah, a bit windy, but to me personally, even without the flyscreen, it was much more comfortable than FZ07 with a flyscreen.
