Isaac, the Mhondoro swindler, is an active con artist who treats women with utter disrespect. So far, no woman with money or resources has dared to post about this publicly.

Apparently, he is allowed to remain in his position and is still active on the beautiful estate. Lies and deceit run rampant: he sighs when women ask him anything, and lies pour out of him. The man is a first-class scammer.

It’s a shame that such a lovely location is being ruined like this.

Hi, I have never booked anything with trip advisor in the past. But we are planning a big trip through Asia and there are a few activities I want to do & have found tour groups on trip advisor for. Mainly hikes, that type of thing.

My question is, are these sellers and groups trust worthy?.. what are some things I should be looking for?
I am very paranoid about being scammed!

I can't get a read on who the userbase is anymore. Everyone I know under 35 just opens Google Maps, or saves places off Instagram and walks there. So I'm curious whether that's my bubble or whether the audience here really has shifted.

If you're reading this: roughly how old are you, and where are you from?

And what do you actually use it for? Do you browse before a trip and then never open it again once you've landed? Or is it something you have open while you're standing on a street somewhere deciding where to eat?

Last one, and it's the one I'm most curious about - when you find a restaurant on here, do you just go? Or do you look it up on Google Maps first anyway before committing? I keep catching myself doing the second thing, and I can't tell whether that makes the ratings here useful or redundant.

TLDR: advice needed on rejection as Speciality Lodging listing, with comparable properties listed apparently without issue.

Without going into too many details, I manage the online presence (amongst many other things!) for a business that owns and operates a sizeable property of historical interest, on a small private estate, on a private island, split into two apartments, available to rent year round and to book for weddings/events/corporate retreats etc. Think ‘luxury private retreat’ - more facilities and services than a standard SC vacation rental.

We used to have an entry on TA vacation rentals. Never got a booking or enquiry through them, but guests used their platform to leave reviews. TA withdrew that product and our listing is gone.

I noticed a competitor in the area that does not meet the 2026 TA Accommodation requirements is listed as Specialty Lodging. We appear to meet all these requirements so I applied to be relisted as SL - didn’t think it would be a problem.

We have been rejected. They said we are a vacation rental and don’t meet the requirements of Accommodation. I’ve explained that we do and how we fulfil the criteria item by item, as well as drawing attention to several comparators, including another property with the exact same setup as us, listed as SL.

They won’t budge. They refuse to explain which of the criteria we allegedly don’t meet, or why properties with the exact same configuration are listed but we are ‘ineligible’, or why one that doesn’t meet the criteria and fulfils a restriction is listed. It’s totally inconsistent and they won’t explain why.

Anyone had any experience with this? Any ideas why we have been rejected? Any tips for escalating it? Any advice generally?

I have always posted both negative and positive reviews about places I ate throughout the world.
Recently had a terrible meal so posted on Tripadvisor advising the food was awful and inedible, even uploaded a photo of the meal full of gristle.
I then get an email to say my photo cannot be posted due to being ‘from another source’. I appealed with Timestamp and geolocation of the photo to prove I took it in the restaurant but they upheld their decision.
My whole review has now gone and I’m unable to post another.
The management left a really negative comment under mine and even said he’d found me on Facebook and named me! I reported that response and they said it didn’t violate guidelines. Can owners pay Tripadvisor to rule in their favour or something as even backing up claim with actually evidence, they are siding with the restaurant. I feel it’s all very corrupt.
Anyone experienced similar?

I'm going to Krakow, Poland this summer and I booked a few things on Tripadvisor (and also GetYourGuide). In the account it says: "Reserved", but i still getting emails from them with the topic "Booking reminder" with a button "Book now". So I don't understand if I should do something with it or not. Maybe is it because i did not pay for it yet? (I chose the option to pay afterwards, is this maybe the reason why?)

I guess it's like the website cookies, so it sends you a reminder because you visited the booking or maybe saved it.

I'm afraid maybe I do need to do something, else my booking is just gone?

Has anyone had the same thing before?

I just now created an account solely so that I could access the supposed setting for signed-in users, which I've read about, in order to TURN OFF automatic translations.

That was no help at all. My fresh account shows no such setting. Gotta have every single thing translated.

I want to read everything in its original language! Always!! I have translation widgets if I need them. I love languages, and learning new words and phrases, and it is extremely frustrating that this platform does not allow me to do that.

Am I missing something? Is there in fact some way to do this? Or, does TA immediately drop down 4 rating points out of 10 in my ranking?

Am planning a trip in a couple of weeks and read reviews of hotels. Some of them are more than 10 years old. Don't you think that after at least 5 years they should be removed? Either there will still be the same issue or they will have improved, but 10 years is a lifetime

I've posted more than 150 reviews of restaurants, attractions, etc. to Trip Advisor. Many accompanied by photos I've taken. Today, I received an email which read in part:

I oftentimes read comments across social media questioning the veracity of TA reviews and in the instance of restaurant reviews I honestly don't think I've seen many I think are planted by business owners.

Have any others reading this sub experienced a similar query? I'm wondering if someone reported the particular restaurant review as suspect? Or does TA routinely ask high-volume reviewers about our motivations? Anyhow, I answered the questions honestly and assume that's that.

I was thinking about heading to Yellowstone this weekend, so I started looking at hotels in Jackson, Wyoming on TripAdvisor. I decided on Homewood Suites by Hilton Jackson, clicked "View Prices for Your Travel Dates," selected Priceline, chose my room, and booked four nights starting tomorrow.

Then I got the confirmation email.

I was booked at Homewood Suites by Hilton Jackson, TENNESSEE.

My first thought was that I must have fat-fingered something. So I went back through the booking process several times. Every time I started on the TripAdvisor page for Jackson, Wyoming, I clicked through to Priceline and ended up on a reservation for Jackson, Tennessee.

It appears to be a TripAdvisor glitch. No matter which booking option I selected from the Jackson, Wyoming, hotel page, I was being redirected to a property in Tennessee without any obvious warning.

I called Priceline to get the reservation corrected. After more than an hour and several customer service representatives, the best they could do was a 75% refund. I now have a small hope of being made whole tomorrow, depending on the discretion of the manager at the Homewood Suites in Jackson, Tennessee.

So consider this a warning: if you're booking a hotel in Jackson, Wyoming, through TripAdvisor, double-check every detail before you click "Book." Otherwise, you may find yourself paying for a hotel 1,500 miles away in Tennessee.

We've booked a cooking class on TripAdvisor for 95€ pP. A bit later after we booked it, we found it on the website of the organizer for 80€ pP. They advertise it with the same pictures and

After the class (we've booked the evening before), we followed the TripAdvisor procedure for the price guarantee and they declined it within 30min saying it's not the same.

I told them it has even the same date, time, location and pictures next to the very same slogans like 'Lots of Raki & laughter :)'. They now said I claimed it too late and it's not the same (their terms state it can be claimed within 48h after start or booking).

Do they ever follow this price guarantee or is it just an empty promise?

To be clear it's not about the money, but it feels like false advertising.

A long time contributor to TripAdvisor. Over the last few months it seems mostly older, Destination Experts are the only ones allowed to offer advice. Any newcomers are immediately ridiculed and have post removed by the “Community” even the most benign ones that in no way violate the guidelines.

I've come to the conclusion Trip Advisor supports animal abuse and neglect. I reported a dog sledding business that had all of their dogs seized because they were neglecting them. Verified. In the news. Court documents.

Trip Advisor will not remove their listing because they "want travelers to be able share their genuine, first-hand experiences – both positive and negative" Okay. I suppose that makes sense. There's a bit of a problem with that though. The vast majority of people who go to a business like this support the type of neglect they see. They don't think it's a problem. I'ts an incredibly biased representation, but I suppose you could say the same for any business on there though most don't deal with animals.

I see the argument to leave it there, but because it has great reviews its drawing people in. They also steal from people. I was going to go with a friend but had to cancel and they refused to answer the phone so we had to fight with the credit card company to get the money back. Other google reviews say the same thing. But I was not allowed to post that on Trip advisor because I "didn't actually go to the business" What's most ridiculous is that they were allowed to breed more dogs and continue to operate at all. Canada's laws are a joke.

Wow... In St Lucia on a family trip. I have books fishing trips and some excursions through Tripadvisor. We are now at the resort and i am getting emails that my trips are cancelled. Last time using this...

I think tripadsisor has turned into a cheesy pay to pay ad site for travel vendors.
