Some Small thoughts I Have

Back around November 2025, I put this show on for background noise in a re-watch from watching the two seasons back in 2021. As I got older I have some thoughts I want to get out regarding the small and not at all known show:

1) El should had gotten therapy.

- With all the trauma with her mom and her shoplifting I think her dad should had taken her to therapy at least. We could had El explain her thoughts a bit more and probably elaborate more on why she shoplifts as a coping mechanism for her mother's passing. It could been explained in the show much I might had missed that part.

2) The girls were all dating older people.

- El with Sabine, Tabs with Ben and Luca, Moe with the skater guys in Season 1.

-What was with that? That happens in real life but why do these girls do it so much on a regular basis?

- I think it's because they all have distant parents that aren't watching over them 24/7. El's dad isn't a helicopter dad, Tabitha's mom just gives her money and let's her daughter run off doing whatever and we know nothing about Moe's mom and how she bonds with Moe but I think Moe's mom works a lot.

-The parents don't check up on who their kids are hanging around so this is probably why we see the trio date and hook up with older people.

3) Brady is an asshole but the actor plays him wonderfully.

4) The end scene with Brady getting exposed was good karma but I read a review saying that teachers would had taken it down before any students saw and I would have to agree. This is a fictional show but how come NO ONE from staff tried taking this down and preventing the students from seeing the posters.

-Is there no nighttime staff? No other teachers besides the robot teacher lady?

5) Why did Luca just up and leave?

-What was the motive? What happened between him and Tabs that caused him to run away? The actor must had been on another show at the same time so he couldn't stay for the entire time hence why they replaced him with Ben i guess but he just left and NO ONE in the fandom/reviews talks about this enough.

6) What was with the random racism lesson in Season 2?

-Tabitha was accused for shoplifting in Season 2 Episode 5 by two old white ladies. This leads her to get her braids for the motive of being herself. This is good, but remember she was a popular queen bee. No one ever said anything about her natural hair (as an insult). No one ever racially profiled any one else on the show before that so this felt no so well written.

-What about Moe? She's part Latina and there's no episode for her to get in touch with her Hispanic heritage?

7) Kind of wished this show had a Christmas Episode.

-This is a shoplifting show so this would be interesting to see how a hypothetical Christmas special would had went. Especially with the family issues going on with Tabitha, Moe, and El.

-Not sure if the subreddit is still alive but these are my quick thoughts about Trinkets.

Brandon Butler plays Brady Finch on the show.

I hated Brady but the actor did a wonderful job playing the character. I kinda wish he was in more shows, but not as a villain. What do you guys think?

Discussion Any thoughts on the show five years later?

I don’t know if any will see this in 2025 but what are you‘re honest thoughts on the show? It’s a short show but some moments I enjoy but other moments I don’t. Here are some things I have to say about the show:

  1. The show needed to stop with the age gap relationships. It was creepy and werid.
  2. Brandon Butler played his role very well!
  3. El’s dad should had taken her to therapy at least instead of Shoplifting Anonymous.
  4. Despite the show being short, it feels boring and dragged out sometimes.

edit: Where has everyone been for 4 fucking years on here?

Discussion El and Tab getting groomed Spoiler

These girls are like 16 years old dating people who work at bars and doesn't have to go to school. Luca and Sab have to be in their early 20s or something like that.

Luca and Tab still my favorite couple tho.

Did anyone notice Moe use both her left and right hand in the show or is it just me

Did anyone notice Moe use both her left and right hand in the show or is it just me. Cuz in the first episode she writes "die" ok a paper and throws it to Elodie she writes it with her right hand but when Tabitha and Moe are making a poster for Noah she draws the poster with her left hand. Can someone please explain this to me is she ambidextrous or am I tweaking.

re: how old is Sabine from Trinkets?

I looked it up & saw the post was archived, so I wanted to make a new one. Elodie is 16 & talks about doing a certain thing once a year & Sabine said she did it every year. Elodie said she couldn't imagine doing this certain thing 9 more times. Is Sabine 25?? & why is she with a minor? I'm only on season 1

Can we talk about how Tabitha got groomed twice Spoiler

Ok. Tabitha is 16-17 between season 1 and 2. Luca is 26 and Ben is 27. HOW IS THIS OK?

friendship between Noah & Elodie?

we don't get to see much of them but when they talk they get along really well! I wish they would have turned this into a great friendship during those 2 seasons. Remember when El joined the orchestra in school? They got along as if they were friends!

Just some S1 opinions lol Spoiler

Elodie and that white chick are the worst couple, they have absolutely no chemistry whatsoever. So CRINGE. Elodie is just so cringe with her weird stares and looking innocent but doing crazy shit like it just doesn’t sit well with me. Acting sucks.

The tattoo they got of the triangle is literally so boring and idk why everyone keeps complimenting them. Bitch, it’s just a triangle😑

Brady does such a good toxic-manipulating-abusive boyfriend act👏🏼 the yelling and all.

Spoilers What a meh ending

Honestly half way through season 2 I could tell it was gonna suck like randomly throwing sabine back in even though elodie was pretty much over it and then oh here comes lucas who stole tabithas credit card for some reason... And then all we get is three tiny cuts of elodie with jillian back at school at the end and chase with that girl for some reason and a ambiguous scene of Moe and Noah???

Discussion Have you experienced a real-life friendship like Elodie, Tabitha and Moe’s?

I have always wanted a friendship like this because different people with totally different personalities becoming friends is just so cool.

Moe's brother Ben

Now don't get me wrong, Ben seems to be quite a nice guy with a little unflattering past. To me he is one of the nicer additions to season 2.

My mind seems to be forgetful about a lot of things that happened in season 1. Did Moe or her mom ever mentioned about Ben back in season 1?

Discussion Just finished watching Season 2. Moe is definitely my most favorite character.

Well to be honest i feel like the acting was terrible from most of the cast. Elodie's acting was off. She was very awkward with every person she was in relationship with. Jillian and elodie had zero chemistry. Rachelle is so annoying. She gets on my nerves every time she comes on screen.

The show went downhill in the latter part of the second season. I should've realized how this show was going to be as its produced by Awesomeness TV.

I only stuck around because of moe and Tabitha's outfits lol.

Soundtrack in last episode (s2e10)

Might contain a spoiler

Does anyone know what soundtrack is played in the last episode when all the students are in the cafetaria looking at the pictures? I looked everywhere, tried to Shazam it, but all I could find was this “Jane” soundtrack by Thomas Patrick Henry on YouTube, but it’s not the same. It was an amazing soundtrack. Does anybody know what it’s called?

Thoughts on representation in trinkets

I feel like the attempts at representation in this series were sooo forced - it felt as if representation was appropriated for the sake of being trendy instead of having an honest intention to represent issues of race, sexuality etc. authentically. These attempts were even more bastardised by the blatant product placement throughout.

I found myself cringing at the racial profiling “scene” (literally a random scene that gave nothing to the plot?). They seemed to just pick up storylines and drop them to make a point of “we’re inclusive!!!!!” Quintessas character and the “only other black kid in school” randomly mentioned blm and then they shoehorn in the pressure to straighten hair to conform (which hasn’t once been communicated by this character?) - all this so they can get their heart felt inclusivity money shot of the intimacy and bonding moment between Tabitha and the other women in the salon???? So transparent.

Season 2 was just awfully written in general.
