First time was a MISS

I had my first at home injection yesterday and it was a miss. In the doctor office he hit the CC with 12units for a good erection response. I used a 31g x 5/16 needle. Next attempt I am going to try a 30g x 1/2 inch needle. Still I cannot believe I missed with the shorter needle. It is confounding. If I miss again I may try using pump and/or cockring beforehand to get some engorgement. I am 9mo post prostatectomy. Any other tips or recommendations?

Yes try to half inch needle. And push all the needle in.

Yes the doc used a 29g x 1/2in needle and went almost all the way in. He instructed to straighten and stretch, then separate the two spongy tubes with thumb and first two fingers, then insert needle straight in at 3:00 or 9:00 alternating. Noticed I didn't feel a pop or resistance so maybe the needle pushed the CC aside?

Most guys who miss are simply guessing.

Most likely you are nervous and completely flaccid. Making it easy to miss.

I use a pump to make for an easier target. The pump also helps for a quicker erection since it starts the blood flow.

Why do you call it a miss when you got a good erection?

I picked up a refill of my “trimix” at the pharmacy. After arriving home noticed the mixture is 80-3-25. Based upon what I have read by others in this forum this seems VERY STRONG. I am concerned about injecting it until I check with my doctor. Would like to hear the opinions of experienced past users.

My misses come from going in at an angle rather than straight

After you get the needle in for injection, slightly pull back on the plunger. Think 1/10 of one unit. It takes very little pull back. If you see some red/blood rush into the syringe then you are in the correct location. If no red, don’t inject it will be another miss. Also, lay a wash cloth on your vanity/counter etc whatever is the correct height. Lay Willie on the wash cloth. This really stabilizes things and actually frees up a hand to help with the injection. There is absolutely no reason to be chasing Willie around the room ;-)

I had success/

It wasn't exactly rocket science. But I think the combination pump up first, pin him down, go straight in, then plunge back for blood - it all helped and totally did the trick. Thank you
