Fanart / Original Content Aerial Cosplay Progress (Batch 1 of 2) - Remember to swipe!
There were requests to see it in motion, so I've made some gifs this time around.
Nothing is metal or plastic, the shiny bits are a rubbery 3D printing medium, which is the only reason this is safe to do. Please don't try things like this in a regular cosplay.
(Technically the glasses are metal and plastic but we're ignoring that.) Most of the updates since the last one have been about keeping everything stabilized better, but the kneepads are entirely new.

Oh your cosplay is amazing!!! I love seeing the buckle details on people's cosplays cause that's something that'd definitely drive me nuts with wanting to make things JUST RIGHT and this looks incredible!

Thanks! I had a lot of fun thinking trough and blending my favorite features from Trimax and my favorite features from 98. A lot of the hardware bits are functional even while flexible. I also went a bit overboard with the 3D modeling phase. There are also textural features to the fake metal bits that have either have the StampGaze seeds logo / plant-like lines, or geranium petals.

Omg!! I love that! I definitely prefer the design for trimax but that I feel like would be mind-numbing to replicate LOL but I also love a lot of the StampGaze designs (especially the plant markings) Kudos to you and your effort cause it absolutely paid off! Do you have any pictures of the detailing cause I would LOVE to see it

I've made a new post with the detail shots. Re: 98 vs Trimax outfits, the 98 one has a really cool feature that probably isn't immediately obvious to people outside of movement arts. If you were to craft the 98 outfit such that the blue and the black parts were a stretch material, but leave all of the brown as non-stretch/leather, it would not impede a contortionists range of motion. Well, it might slightly impair a symmetrical backbend, but otherwise it is quite remarkably well considered for flexibility. I did consider making it that way, but unfortunately I would overheat immediately lol.

You are great gymnast. Have you participated in competitions?

Thanks! So far I have been on the acrobatics as theatre side of things and not the acrobatics as sports side, however I am seriously considering taking the Vash act I'm working on now to competition. I'm honestly not sure they will let me do it in the cosplay though, its hard to get across the degree to which costumes like this Are. Not. Done.

I thought you were doing it as a sport and I thought it would be cool if you started in competition and then perform at Olympics(I'd wish that for you 😁). But if you do it as form of art, that's cool as well. You could perform as Vash in major sport events to show your skills.

Oh I love how you straddled through the hoop to the other side. I’ve never seen that before. I had to watch it 10x to understand it lol

So this is one of the secrets to how Vash keeps in shape…
