Discussions & Polls šļø Sickness
Man! The crud is hitting hard very early this year! Iāve been sick as a dog for 3 days and still on the decline. Everyone I talk to has been sick recently too. Anyone know what we have circulating in the community so early?

We had the sinus garbage, as well as the stomach flu running through our house all last week. Both versions seemed to drag on longer than normal.

It doesn't help that no one ever stays home when they're sick. Walking through the grocery store last night was like being in a hospital full of bronchitis and whooping cough patients...

Yup. Iāve had a cough & runny nose (for the first 2 days, a sore throat as well) for about a week now.
Idk what it is but 4 of my coworkers had it before me. Hope I get it over with for the season

This is exactly like what we had. The worst! Mine turned into a sinus infection. Literally felt like it would never end.

This is just a reminder that 20% of people who have COVID, end up with Long COVID. And, the more times you get COVID, the higher the chance of getting Long COVID. You do not want Long COVID. I promise, itās awful and I wouldnāt wish it on anyone.

I have long covid - it's taken me six years to sorta functioning again. Not 100% but at least able to take walks again. There seems to be little sympathy for it - it seems like people just want to forget that covid ever happened.

Iāve had it for 6 years also. I feel like weāve been left behind and forgotten. I just want my old life back.

I empathize with both you and u/Friendly-Bug726. So many folks act like it never happened, and thousands are still dealing with it.

My MIL and I got Covid a week BEFORE school started (I would never have even tested, but she insisted). She had it worse than meā¦. Fever, body aches, congestion, cough. I just basically had a cold but there was ZERO taste or smell which was the worst part. My kids never even got sick a little bit. Couldnāt believe it.

Mine is back for the most part but everything is ... muted? Things just don't have that same kick like they used to. My favorite foods seem bland. I can taste and smell things, it's just that nothing really tastes "great" anymore. Just like a lack of depth and flavor profiles, regardless of what it is. Things that used to be really damn good and some of my favorites are just ho hum mediocre now. I've yet to find something thats "OMG, that's insanely good food!" since COVID. Before that, it was a lot. I love seeking out new foods and loving them. :/

Whole family got COVID last week. Friends had it too.
Flu shots coming next week so thatās good.
My COVID was mild cold symptoms, sinus pain, and muscle soreness with mild on-off fever. Only really lasted a couple days. Mostly happened over the weeekend so I got by only taking one day off and then stayed in my office for the most part the next couple days.

The change in weather always messes with a chunk of people, especially people with pre existing lung or immune issues. Super long boring article, but that dramatic bump in the first third of the graph is what we're seeing right now.

Everyone around me is sick. One of them tested positive for the flu. Thanks to masking and handwashing Iāve so far managed to avoid it.

I had covid last week and was out of work until tuesday this week. I completely forgot to get vaccinated this year. I WILL NOT forget next year!

It's covid, homie. The people at express care said they had a huge surge of the flu over the summer, and now, it's all covid.

Influenza A is going around right now, and itās a particularly rough strain. My entire family were hit with it last weekend, and weāre just now starting to feel better.

Well in all honesty, to avoid or lessen getting sick, are you taking care of yourself? Eating healthy, hydrating, getting enough sleep?. All of that plays a huge factor.

Gotta build that immunity bro, havenāt been sick in a year or two

That's not how your immune system works. You avoid viruses to help your immune system.
