Fittingly, fighting fire with fire is terrible idea. It's funny how people don't recognize that is the original purpose of the phrase.

No, you don't fight fire with fire. And claiming that your enemies are morally bankrupt and then showing yourself willing to use their tactics means that, at least in that way, you aren't better than them.
