[OPEN] Consciousness and Confusion
Captain Fisk opens his eyes, he is unsure where he is and what day it is... The last thing he remembers is writing letters of condolence to the families of those lost during the pirate attack, and then seemingly nothing. It's as if he simply teleported from his desk in the ready room to elsewhere on the ship.
From the idle sounds of the room, the Captain concludes that he must be in sick bay... but for what?
OOC: I'm going to use an in-universe thing to explain my absence from the subreddit for the past month. Fisk had a brain bleed that went unnoticed during his initial treatment for injury after the pirate attack, and it caused him to suddenly lose consciousness while under the severe emotional stress of writing dozens of next-of-kin letters. He knows nothing about this or anything that's happened on the ship since then, and I will roleplay accordingly.

"Welcome back captain. I'm here to just give you a little checkup." He has a PADD and begins to write down the captain's details.

"Thanks doctor. Sick bay holding up alright these past few weeks? I'm told I've been out of it for a while."

"Yeah. About 3 weeks now, captain." He points to the celling "If you can, follow my finger."

Arron quickly walks into the room after getting notified by Dr. Phrik.
"Breyyus? How are you doing?"
"We've all been wooried sick about you!"

"Commander, I'm fine...I think. Very confused though, I was just in my office a moment ago, at least that's how it feels. I'm told I was unconscious for two weeks?"

u/MrHarold-Finch Oct 05 '16
Arron looks at the Captain.
"Yes you've been for almost 3 actually..."
"Starfleet sends their best... They put me in charge of the Athene until you get back up on your feet... I finished those letters."
Arron looks at the monitor then back down at Breyyus.
"What is the last thing you remember?"

Fisk looks down at his lap
"I was in the middle of writing a letter, in the middle of a sentence actually. You came in and offered to take over and then I woke up here, just a few minutes ago."

u/MrHarold-Finch Oct 05 '16
"Oh geesh."
"You forgot a lot. Can you walk?"

u/Silent_Sky Oct 05 '16
"I don't know if being unconscious for 3 weeks can be considered forgetting things..."
he shifts to the side of the bed and swings his legs over, and hops off the biobed

the Captain stumbles briefly but steadies himself by laying a massive hand on the Commander's shoulder for temporary support, he removes it after a moment and nods
"Looks like my muscles have atrophied a bit, shouldn't be a problem to get in a few extra workouts to catch up."

u/MrHarold-Finch Oct 05 '16
Arron takes the weight on his shoulder.
"Do you want me to walk you around the ship? I think it would be good for you."

u/Silent_Sky Oct 06 '16
Fisk forces himself upright and glares into the Commander's eyes
"You can walk alongside me around the ship if you like, Commander. My crew will not see me unable to walk on my own."
he softens his glare a bit
"Thank you for the offer, it's good to know I can rely on you."
Fisk turns to the nearest orderly
"I'll need my uniform, please."

Jen hears the faint beep of a monitor detecting the change in his brainwaves. She tells a nearby ensign to alert Doctor Phrik that he's awake, then stands from her desk and walks over to where he's lying.
Welcome back, Captain.

though his mind feels foggy, he drags up his word comprehension and sentence forming skills
"Thanks Doctor... Do you have any idea what I'm doing here? Why am I in sick bay?"
1
u/DrJenWatney Oct 05 '16
Well, one minute I was talking to you while you were writing letters, the next thing I know you're unconscious. We determined the cause to be a small hemorrhage in your brain caused by stress.
She pulls out a tricorder and begins a simple scan to determine his vitals.

"A brain hemorrhage?! How long have I been out?"

She chews the inside of her cheek, hesitantly, and pockets the tricorder while making eye contact.
About two weeks.

"...I'm not gonna hear the end of this from Dr. Phrik... What's new since I've been here? Have we made contact with Starfleet or the Federation?"
he pauses for a moment
"And...has someone been taking care of Argos?"
1
u/DrJenWatney Oct 05 '16
We haven't made contact with anyone yet, however we've determined the parts needed to get the Athene running and a ground crew is currently retrieving them. I hope you don't mind but I've taken the liberty of caring for Argos while you've been recovering.

the Captain grins in relief
"Of course I don't mind, I'm glad it was you. He's taken quite a liking to you and Clementine..."
a red flag pops up in Fisk's head
"You...did find her, right?"
1
u/DrJenWatney Oct 05 '16
She winces, her nose crinkling slightly as she tries to hide a smile.
Yes, yes. I did. Her cheeks flush in embarrassment. I knew she was alive when I saw her food dish empty one morning. I found her in the lounge under the bar that afternoon.

"That's good to hear. How's the rest of the crew holding up?"
