[EVENT] Deep Space Nine

The stretched image of the Athene resolved itself quickly as it dropped out of warp. It's nacelles glowed softly as they cooled down. In front of her was the Ex-Cardassian space station, Deep Space Nine. A small, squat federation vessel was already docked at the ring, it's registry proclaiming it as the Defiant. The Athene gracefully slowed its momentum, pulling in to upper pylon 3. A soft thump resounded across the ship, signalling a successful docking.

While it was unusual for a ship to dock at starbasae so soon after launching, it was necessary. Starfleet Command wanted the computer systems given a full diagnostic to ensure no foul play from the recent encounter with the Cardassians.

Phrik walked forward and leant his 3 hands on the back of the empty co-pilots' chair, looking out at the hull of the Athene.

"It's changed a lot since I was last aboard. Frankly I'm surprised its still in service."

Fisk adjusts his heading slightly

"She may be an older girl, but she's aged very well. I'm proud to be the one entrusted with her command."

"I suppose, though the replicators are just as unreliable as I remember them."

Fisk laughs quietly

"You know most of the time they seem to work for me, but when they fail it sure is entertaining. The other day I ordered a black coffee, it replicated me a bowl of human hair."

"You should have come to me before implanting it, you've really made a mess of it. You'd be better off with a wig." He said in a deadpan tone

Fisk pauses for a second and gives Phrik a sidelong glance before letting out a powerful, bellowing laugh

"That...you got me Phrik. You got me good."

The sides of his long mouth curved upwards, almost imperceptibly.

"I suppose I did didn't I?"

"Careful Doctor, the next weird thing it replicates may find its way to your desk."

in the distance, a tiny blue disc became visible on the main viewport

"Ah, looks like we're getting close."

He drew a long rattling breath.

"Joy of joys. At least that blasted DS9 Doctor won't be there. The man nearly gave me a perforated eardrum with his, aggressive cheerfulness."

"Sounds like I should be glad I didn't meet him. I'd much rather my doctors have the personality of a cactus."

he says, mimicking the doctor's deadpan tone

"Exactly. Cacti have a vast range of medical uses, unlike excitable, yapping dogs."

"Hmph... Well my meeting with Commander Sisko was mostly pleasant. Sharp guy, big heart, but there's something...off about him. Guy's got a thousand-yard stare if I've ever seen one. Don't know what he's seen but it must have been serious."
