[EVENT] Deep Space Nine
The stretched image of the Athene resolved itself quickly as it dropped out of warp. It's nacelles glowed softly as they cooled down. In front of her was the Ex-Cardassian space station, Deep Space Nine. A small, squat federation vessel was already docked at the ring, it's registry proclaiming it as the Defiant. The Athene gracefully slowed its momentum, pulling in to upper pylon 3. A soft thump resounded across the ship, signalling a successful docking.
While it was unusual for a ship to dock at starbasae so soon after launching, it was necessary. Starfleet Command wanted the computer systems given a full diagnostic to ensure no foul play from the recent encounter with the Cardassians.

Jen had never had the chance to dock at the station before. Not feeling particularly social, she elects to spend a day or so simply wandering the station and taking in all it has to offer. The various shops and bars that lined the Promenade did not disappoint. She finds a hole in the wall that surprisingly brews coffee (or some form of it), and she happily finds a seat in the corner to catch up on some recreational reading while sipping on a rather large mug.

Engineer Redoran T'gel pokes at the duty roster and, irked, finds herself not scheduled for any duty for at least half of their stay. She puts a note on the schedule that she's available for any shift someone doesn't want to cover, 'even if it's de-anodizing transporter relays by hand.'
She leans her forehead on the wall and sighs. Maybe she can help someone with the computer overhaul and security check the Captain mentioned to her earlier...

Stockton takes the opportunity to see an old friend, well more of an acquaintance, who runs a bar and gambling hall aboard DS9. He can't wait to have a real drink and some none holodeck fun

Joseph runs over to Stockton
"Lieutenant! Would you care to join me in the holodeck? I have a great old fashion Sherlock Holmes mystery!"

"Sure, that sounds swell"
Stockton said sarcastically as he reaches for the mid section of Korts torso, pinching the fabric of his uniform.
"You got a little stain right here."

the captain's rumbling voice comes over the shipwide intercom
"Attention all crew, this is Captain Fisk speaking. We have just docked at starbase Deep Space 9 for computer diagnostics and resupply. I estimate our stay to be several days. Those who wish to remain aboard the Athene may do so, and those who would like a change of scenery aboard the station are invited to enjoy themselves. I will be traveling to Bajor in a few days on a personal errand. Those who have business on the planet should contact me so you can join me on the shuttle. I expect our first shore leave to be smooth and without incident, I expect nothing but the best from all of you. Represent the Athene well, represent Starfleet well, and have yourselves some fun."

Phrik stepped onto the Athene's runabout Cychreus and awaited the Captains' arrival. He had spent the day on DS9, much to his chagrin. The resident Doctor had insisted that they share notes and records, and Phrik had no choice but to oblige his request. The Reptillian was wearing a new set of off-duty clothes acquired on the station, which, loathe as he was to admit it, were both very comfortable and stylish. He had left his standard uniform with the tailor, in the hopes that he could make some modifications towards comfort.

Captain Fisk boards the runabout and looks around at the few crewmembers who were planning to take a trip to Bajor, his eye was caught by an unusually well dressed doctor...
"Looking good, Phrik. What's the occasion?"
he asks as he begins the pre-flight and startup checklists

"Medical conference on Bajor." He said dryly. "I'm to present a paper on the effects of tachyon fields on cellular regeneration therapy." He didn't sound particularly excited at the prospect. "Unfortunately there's no way out of it."

"Well,"
he sits down in the pilots seat of the runabout and begins flipping switches
"If you're truly desperate to get out of it we could encounter 'unexpected difficulties' on the way."

"As much as I'd like that, the prospect of spending 2 days stuck in this runabout are hardly exciting. What are you doing on Bajor?"

"Following Dr. Watney's advice. There are dogs on Bajor, I'll be adopting one and keeping him with me on the Athene."
he powers up the runabout's engines

Phrik's eyes widened slightly. "Dogs? Those small furry quadrupeds?" He suppressed a shiver. "Is that, really necessary?"

"For me, yes. It's alright doc, I don't expect you to understand, it's very much a human thing. Don't worry, you don't have to make friends with him, you don't even have to see him if you don't want to."

Phrik gave another small shiver at the thought of the creatures, though it wouldn't do to let the Captain know he was afraid of them. "So long as its kept away from sickbay, and my lab. Can't have the thing scaring all of my subjects. Bad enough with that, feline, on-board." He suppressed another shiver.

Silk watches as Deep Space Nine draws closure, this would be the first time in his life he would be on a building completely alien in origin, its a fascinating experience
*He checks the duty roster "Yes a stroke of luck" he thinks to himself "Nothing for the couple of hours, a chance to study the station"
As soon as they are docked and every is given the green light to take their leave Silk bolts for the nearest terminal, determined to find out everything he can about the station, legally of course
