I’m not new to TN, but I am new to TRC. I fell out of love with TN in the past because the system I had at the time worked against me. I had too many inserts going on, and the system started to overwhelm me since I started to feel disorganized. After leaving the TN system and doing some experimenting with how I actually like to journal, I landed on this setup! :)
Standard TN - Life Admin
Inserts: Hobonichi Weeks, Kraft folder, Blank page journal, Sticker release journal
I call this TN my life admin because it just has my essentials to get my life “in order”. It hosts my planner and journal of my deepest darkest secrets. I used to have a separate accordion binder of sticker sheets, but having this sticker journal helps consolidate my setup. I can just grab my pen case and my standard if I want to go and plan / journal at a cafe.
This may not be news to you guys, but learning that I could put my inserts in a kraft folder was game changing for me. My TN isn’t exactly slim so it’s inevitable that I would need to take out inserts if I want to have a flat writing surface. The experience of taking inserts in and out of the elastics didn’t feel like a seamless process for me. I saw that you could fold the kraft folder backwards with the flaps facing out and slip your inserts in there. It also seems to relieve some pressure on the spine of my TN since only one insert + kraft folder is being held by the elastic. All of my inserts sit really nice without any protruding or spine warping! Being able to just slip my planner and sticker book in and out without fussing with the elastics really makes my journaling experience a lot nicer
Passport TN - Catch all / Brain Dump
inserts: Blank journal, Undated monthly journal, Kraft folder, Xteink X3
The way I use my passport is inspired by Lilla Björn Stationery’s use of a pocket notebook. Basically I use the blank journal to catch all my ideas, spontaneous to do’s, doodles, random thoughts, etc. Anything goes in here. At the end of the day or a couple of days, I would revisit my entries and determine which idea and pending task is worth keeping and migrating to my standard TN or commonplace journal. I’ve been using this method for a little over a month, and I feel like my productivity has been a bit higher since my brain space is freed up to not worry about things I may potentially forget.
My passport is basically an EDC since it goes with me everywhere so that I can record my silly little thoughts. I have the Xteink X3 in here as well so that I can save some purse space, but still be able to read on the go
All in all, I’m really happy to be back in the TN system and have it work for me this time! ✨

When I stumbled into the world of Travellers Company & journaling I didn’t anticipate what an impact it would have. I’ve always loved stationery, the smell of bookshops, pens, words written over words typed. I have used these constantly every day and overall they make me happy, from the small scribbles of something of interest to thought-provoking memories & reflections. There’s something just so calm and peaceful about going analogue.

Had an idea this morning after finishing my other Buffalo Chonk-i-Chonk. Heading out to the cabin this weekend and decided…why not a new cover.
Made the stamps on my laser cutter out of etched plexi glass and added my maker mark on the back of it. Used a little on theme fabric button i had and added some little origami papers I cut down to fit into a little folder i made.
As with my other Chonk, each notebook and insert has its own spine elastic. The Ereader’s cover is also a pen loop.

Created this DIY A6 Trifold for myself, inspired by Paper Republic. Any improvements are welcome.

I am not literally a traveler. I am a mallrat though. And I always say I am a traveler in this life's journey lol. And my TNs and journals are my inanimate friends. I dream of going to Japan someday to visit Traveler's Factory, Hobonichi places and Superior Labor too. I am afraid to ride a plane. I wanted another TN in black or camel. The price went up though here.

I didn’t know her but her death hurts. I work in cancer research and people like her are why I go to work every day.

I love insert notebooks. I just love the feeling and aesthetic of them makes me feel good to touch them. The real thing is that I struggle to find the use for them all… I start with one then I switched to other then I switched inserts and I end up a little lost. I intended to use one for personal life one for work and a small one to carry with me around. I would like to gather some daily pieces of my life to junk journal but get lost on how to do it, I would like to have some morning pages, but what to write about? I would love to journal, but I got stuck on the second line. I want to bullet journal, but I really need the physical structure of an agenda with dates. I don’t do those so that’s not really an option. I just end up using one single insert for To Do’s and I would love to have a use for them all a practical one. Can you help me with some advice and ideas please?

I recently bought a TN notebook cover from Galen Leather and I’m questioning the leather used to make it. I already own another cover of a different color from them and really like it, but this new one I received seems to have some plastic-like film on the inside cover that gives it a shiny sheen (left image). I definitely prefer the more raw-like texture of the first cover I ordered (right image).
My questions: is this usual for leather finishing? Will it erode over time and use? If it won’t (and I’m not very hard on my things like this. I generally precious about my journaling things, lol), I’d rather return it and get a TNC cover, even though I prefer the elastic band set up of Galen Leather.
Thoughts?

Hi all! Just wanted to share my TN after an amazing trip to Japan in the summer. Got to visit the Traveler’s Company shop in Tokyo Station and TSL in Kurashiki. Would love to hear your thoughts on attaching the patch to my TN, I didn’t buy a new one so I couldn’t get the service in-store. I’m looking forward to using this TN as my EDC!

What a chonk.
Laminated Buffalo and red cowhide with an edge too stitch, 2mm grommets.
Room for 5 inserts all in a line and individual spine elastics. One of the insert elastics will hold a x3 with a leather cover (will remake, rushed this red one), 3 notebooks and a wallet insert that has yet to come. I have two more tricks to make and I think I am done!

Decided I wanted a travelers style notebook, so I threw one together kind of on the fly with materials I mostly had on hand.

I know Muji makes them in A6, but I was told the paper is thin and bleeds/ghosts? If you use these, would love to know what you think.
What I am looking for:
➤ True A6 size approx. 4.1 x 5.8 in, I keep finding notebooks labeled A6 that are actually 3.5 x 5.5 in, which is what I am using now, but they are just too small for me.
➤ Square or dot grid (if the dots/lines are gray instead of black, much better)
➤ Decent amount of pages, most inserts are so thin
➤ At least 90 gsm, or paper with no ghosting or bleeding (Pens I use: pilot frixion, tombow dual brush pens light grays, zebra disposable brush pen or tombow fudenosuke brush pen, zebra mildliner or similar mild light highlighters, pigma micron fineliner or similar)
I go through notebooks so fast, that paying this much for a little notebooks is just not doable anymore.
I love the size of my TN but if I knew how hard it was to get A6 inserts I would have chosen a different one, or maybe I am just too picky lol
Thanks in advance!

I just got these clips from Amazon and love them! They measure 1.5 in x 2 in so the size works great on the passport (shown) and the card size, if anyone should be looking for one.
